  1 Millstones was an ideal holiday cottage for the two of us and our dog but plenty big enough for two more people in the twin bedded room that we did not use. The house was absolutely immaculate, very comfortable and very well equipped. The garden was sunny, large and very pretty. It was also safely fenced, so we felt confident that our dog could not escape. Not that he would have wanted to — he loved both house and garden. We took his bed and sleeping crate and he was totally happy. Walberswick is a lovely place. It has a good village store and an excellent little delicatessen, The Black Dog. There are also two tea gardens. We enjoyed wonderful walks through varied landscapes, and on lovely beaches, including a fun walk to Southwold including the famous Ferry ride across the small river, the first time our dog had been in a boat. He loved that too. The cottage kitchen was good for cooking in, with a large pine table, but we ate most evenings at The Anchor, about 150 yards from the house, which has a large, heated marquee, perfect for these Covid times, and good food. Other details: the cottage bathroom was clean and pleasant, with a good shower over the bath. The WiFi worked well and the TV included access to Netflix. This was a special holiday for us, our first time away for very many months. I would recommend 1 Millstones and Walberswick and the surrounding area to anyone. Who would need to go abroad?!

  Lovely little cottage in a perfect part of town. A minutes walk from the beach and a sea view from the bedroom. Unfortunately in some areas it is quite tired. In particular the bathroom and kitchen have stained sinks and the kitchen grouting desperately needs a deep clean or replacing. Other areas such as the windows and sofa are just tired and the duvet is three small ones zipped together rather than a single king size one. This was really very uncomfortable as the zips are thick and pretty rigid. Id love to stay here again but only after the place has a deep clean.

  Had a lovely week in this charming house. All the rooms provided a home from home level of comfort and I loved the homely vibe. The large enclosed garden meant that we could enjoy the beautiful weather when we returned from exploring the area. A star feature for me was the wonderful selection of novels and I enjoyed a couple of hours discovering the work of poets in the extensive range of poetry books. Waberlswick is delightful; old world charm and a great base for the busier Southwold and Aldburgh. A great stay.

  Hi Just like to say we were unable to stay with you more than a few hours as the courtyard was not really dog friendly and our dog found it difficult to find a patch of ground to wee wee on also when we arrived the back gate had been left open!

  The first evening noise of church bells and the local put spooked our dog and she barked a lot so once she refused to go to the toilet outside we had to come home ! There was no dog bowls or dog towels provided which would have been nice for the extra money paid All in all the property was very nice and everything we would need was there I think there is a problem with electrics as tv and light kept flickering also a smell of damp was noticeable on arrival

  We had a lovely week in October at 1 Millstones. We found the property to be very comfortable, warm and homely. Lots of fascinating books, and a lovely garden that was perfect for our dog. The property was very well equipped generally - beds were very comfortable, great TV and sofas, nice kitchen and table to eat at. Fantastic location in the centre of Walberswick, easy access to the beach, pubs and deli. We would love to stay again!
