What our customers say about their holidays
Fiona - Verified booking
We used the cottage as a base to sleep as we were visiting family over Christmas.
There were some lovely touches such as the welcome gifts and the doggie welfare pack. However, we did have a few niggles. We felt that the bathroom was impractical. My mum was unable to get in / out of the bath. I struggled to shower using the hand held shower head and no shower curtain. Its inevitable that the floor gets wet. The large cracks in the floor tiles are off putting too. There is very little storage in the bathroom. I imagine it was presumed that a couple were using the cottage as towels were left in the main bedroom only. I hope my single bedroom had been cleaned but it had lots of cobwebs on the fitted wardrobes and the carpet looked grubby and had black dog hair on it. I did notice a paw print on the duvet cover too but presumed the bedding had been washed! Mum found a pair of socks from a previous guest under her chair in the main bedroom which you would imagine would have been found whilst vacuuming? My mum found the upstairs of the cottage very cold at night. The cottage is difficult with a dog. Luckily I brought throws for the white sofa! You can't just open the door and let the dog out due to it opening up on a shared driveway with a large metal gate onto the road. So, I had to take my dog out on a lead and lead him through a gate into the garden area incase the gate hadn't been closed properly. It's also hard to keep a dog downstairs when there is no door / gate to the stairs. The cottage was satisfactory for our needs over Christmas but we would have struggled if we were not spending most of our time with family.

We had an extended stay in this wonderful cottage in Woodbridge and enjoyed it so much we returned to finish out our holiday there!
(March 26-April 7, then April 16-21). The description is accurate regarding the road noise and the stairs but as a previous guest said, these were just not an issue for us. The location is great with a pleasant walk to Woodbridge with all its fun shops, pubs, Co-Op, Green Grocer etc. Itâs also a very short drive to Sutton Hoo (a must see). Or you can find breakfast and lunch just across the street or enjoy the Cherry Tree Inn Pub next door for lunch or dinner. Or just enjoy a home cooked meal in the well-equipped (and super clean and cute!) kitchen. The cottage is beautifully kept and has combined the Old-World charm of this historical building with all the modern updates that make this such an enjoyable and comfortable holiday let. The cottage is very cozy and filled with every amenity imaginable. We have so appreciated how much the owners have clearly made it their mission to make sure this would be a wonderful and comfortable stay. We also appreciated how available they are for answering questions, helping us find any resources we needed and their promptness in managing any issues that may arise. Much thanks to Janet and Gary for making this a delightful and relaxing stay. Your cottage and care showed a pride of ownership far beyond anything we have experienced in our travels here. Cheers! Well done!

Overall we did enjoy our stay at Cherry Tree Cottage though before booking I would have liked to of known you have to go through next doors garden to get to own garden.
Would have preferred to leave back door open as weather was good to let my dog wander in & out. Next doorâs garden was full of dog poo all week which was smelling quite bad so didnât sit outside, plus the cushions for the loungers were out for washing!! Would have thought they would be available for first week of June as warm enough to sit outside. We found the bed a little hard but thatâs personal preference. Cottage was very clean and had everything we needed really great location for exploring the area, Woodbridge has loads to offer & walking by the river early morning with our dog was bliss calling into Brownbread bakery for coffee & a pastry is missed now back home. Would recommend cottage as overall we had a brilliant week, just a shame about garden access with a dog. Owner was extremely helpful when we miss placed key (dropped it in boot of car) thereâs another key safe by back door which weâd not seen.

We had a lovely week in Southwold. The flat is in an excellent location and we found it easy to park and get around. The flat was very comfortable and spacious and on arrival there was bread, milk, eggs, butter, jam & some coffee pods which was a lovely touch, and gratefully received. The kitchen was well-equipped although the kettle needs a descaling! The small bedroom was a little dusty in places - annoying as our 5 year old likes to touch everything! The flat looks out onto a private garden at the back which was off putting at times when you want to get changed and there’s a family of 5 eating their dinner outside the bedroom window - but obviously pulling the curtains solves that problem. The shower was excellent, really powerful and the bath was a good size for our son to splash around in. The blackout blinds in the bedrooms were very good. Overall we had a lovely stay and hope to come back again.
