  Duck Pond Cottage is a very special place indeed.

  Jenny and Brian were superb hosts right from the when we booked. I txt Jenny a few times about the cottage and within a few minutes she answered my queries asap, great customer service. Well what can I say about the cottage just absolutely fantastic! It is beautiful inside and out, this cottage is spacious, home from home and furnished to a very high standard it was exceptionally clean and everything you could possibly need for a luxury getaway. Each room within the cottage was stunning, with such beautiful touches to them, well presented to an exceptional standard through out. A lovely welcome pack was also awaiting for us which was a very thoughtful touch by our hosts and to be honest the best yet. Jenny popped round to say hello and to see if everything was ok the first night, even took time to recommend bars, restaurants in the local area, they really go out of their way to make your stay a wonderful experience. The only downside to this cottage was having to leave it, had a lump in my throat when we left. I honestly said good bye to it. We will definitely be back to this fabulous place. The best accommodation we have stayed in for a very long time. Well done to Jenny and Brian on renovating this beautiful home you should be proud of yourselves.   We had a lovely week at Swang Cottage and would highly recommend this property.

  This is a delightful, cosy cottage in the middle of stunning scenery. We were met by Rosie, the owner, who was lovely and explained everything to us. Rosie was always available for any help we needed. All covid precautions are taken at this cottage. The cottage was extremely clean and hand sanitisers were provided. The cottage is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. Rosie has managed extremely well to achieve a perfect balance between retaining the period charm of the cottage and including everything required for our modern lives. The icing on the cake is the lovely hot tub which was wonderful after a day out! The views from the cottage are exceptional, especially as the sun sets in the evening. Turn left from the gate and within 200 yards you are on the Yorkshire moors. Turn right from the gate and you are a short distance from the lovely village of Glaisdale. The cottage is very well situated to visit coastal villages such as Staithes, Sandsend and also very near to Whitby. It is also well placed to visit other areas of the moors such as Hutton-le-Hole. Thank you Rosie for allowing us to stay at such a special place.

  We have done many hot tub breaks, and this was the worst of them.

  Cottage downstairs was ok, but very small and cramped upstairs, back yard was very untidy with dead leaves and pine needles everywhere, first night there after a day out cottage was very cold and had to use blankets, when i spoke to owner I had to investigate the boiler which after a promt from me it transpired that someone had turned the radiator temp down, something that should have been checked before handover to us. No welcome pack upon arrival, a first for us, a a big no no. And first time in hot tub there is nowhere to secure the lid other than lean it up against posts, which to my surprise the wind blew it down and landed on my head, as i was on my own at this point, i perish the thought of what would have happened if it had knocked me out! Instead i suffered a very sore neck and shoulders for the duration, and even now, 3 weeks after it is still sore. Glad we only booked it for a long weekend

  Our stay at Duck Pond Cottage this month (September) was great.

  Upon arrival we were greeted with some really nice goodies and also some essentials such as tea, coffee, sugar and bread, which was really appreciated. The cottage itself is lovely. The cottage part of the building maintains its cottage style and merges well with the kitchen and dinning area and was perfect for a group of 5 (4 adults and 1 toddler). However, while it really wasn't an issue i would recommend a slightly larger TV in the living room as it is a little small and a wifi booster would help too. The village is close by and has a great chinese but now really only has one good place to eat and drink (Palmers Ale House) if you want to go anywhere in walking distance, however we didn't try the sports club or social club but Kings Lynn is close by, which is beautiful and has everything you need. Would recommend for a nice quite break and a few day trips to the seaside or nearby towns.

  We booked Duck Pond Cottage with high expectations after reading previous visitors comments and we weren't disappointed!

  Jenny and Brian have renovated the cottage to an extremely high standard and thought of everything you could possibly need on a break away. The welcome gifts were well thought out and extremely generous. We were made to feel so welcome in the village and our 11 month old pup was also welcome to join us in all of the bars and restaurants locally. Long Sutton proved to be an excellent base for exploring and we had an amazing time visiting Sandringham - one of Brian's recommendations! Stamford was another place we would recommend, with stunning Georgian architecture, river walks and plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. We will definitely be returning to Duck Pond Cottage as soon as we can. Having visited numerous cottages in locations across the UK, Duck Pond Cottage is firmly at the top of our favourites list!
