What our customers say about their holidays

This is a super little cottage, ideal for anyone wanting a quiet spot but with easy access to Fishguard and north Pembrokeshire coast.
It is also perfect for dog owners with a secure back garden, hard floors throughout the ground floor and access from the door onto bridleways and footpaths for walking. We found it nicely decorated and furnished, really well equipped and everything supplied of a nice quality. We particularly appreciated that rather than take out the book and DVD selection a âquarantineâ crate was provided for the former and antiseptic wipes for the latter, meaning it retained its home from home feel. The owner next door is very friendly, approachable and helpful but not at all intrusive. There are a couple of features of the property that you should be clear about before booking. Firstly, access is via a rough and rather bumpy track for the last 200 metres - nothing an average car can't manage going slowly but don't take your low suspension car. The trade off for this is the amazingly quiet location despite being close to the bypass. Secondly there might be one or two difficulties for those with restricted mobility. There are 4 main rooms in the property and moving from any one to another, or indeed accessing the garden, is always via a few steps. We found our 11 year old rather arthritic retriever had to be coaxed up the steps from kitchen to lounge. Similarly much of the excellent array of cooking equipment in the kitchen is accessed from a corner cupboard requiring bending and stretching in a relatively confined space. This would in no way put us off booking again. We loved it!

The cottage has a lot of potential.
Lovely location, garden was secure for dogs, kitchen was well equipped & it felt very private, lots of lovely features such as the log burner & wooden floors, staircase was very sweet & the attic room was very specious. Unfortunately, it was very run down. The double bed was incredibly uncomfortable, when we stripped the bed at the end of our stay we could see it was an old mattress with just a mattress topper in an obvious attempt to make it more comfortable. The duvet was yellow & dirty. Thankfully, the white bedding was fresh & clean. The sofa cushions were non existent, no springs or padding left in the tiny sofa & the tub chairs incredibly uncomfortable. The shower was the biggest let down with a lot of mould in the grout & excessive mould on the bathroom ceiling. Cobwebs & dust everywhere. Bedroom lighting was awful, very very dull & dark & the furniture was old & marked very badly. We donât watch much tv on holiday but if we hadnât been able to get out weâd have struggled as not even a fire stick & minimal channels. The cottage was very very basic & over all a let down. We still enjoyed our weekend but feel that honest reviews would be much more helpful.

Wow! The accommodation was immaculate and perfect, from its location to its facilities, we couldn't have asked for more.
The bedrooms were large with comfy beds, the en suite in the front room was ideal, (we didn't realise there was also a bathroom on the first floor too until the day we left!) The place was cosy and warm, just what we needed after a day of walking along the coastal path in October. It was nice to spend the evenings in a comfy living space, too often with holiday lets they can be sparse, which isnât what youâre looking for particularly with a winter break. The view was stunning, whatever time of day and whatever the weather. We explored everywhere from St David's (Cathedral and Priory) to New Quay with ease. - we parked at Porthgain (check out the Sloop Inn Pub here) and walked to the Blue Lagoon. - we also walked a circular route around Dina's Head, the pub/restaurant at the Pwllgwaelod Beach carpark we also recommend. - a boat trip from New Quay was brilliant. - Wolfâs Castle Hotel - 2 AA Rosette â we had a delicious Sunday lunch and went back the Friday evening for our meal. - Pop along to Tresaith Waterfall - New Port Beach was great for a walk, then enjoy a meal at the Castle Inn!

Very pretty cottage, and such a nice change from hotel rooms.
We felt quite spoiled with a kitchen, living room and loft in addition to the usual bedroom and bathroom. Great location, not far from the train station and close to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Foot Path, which is what we came for. Stunning views, if youâre a hiker youâll love it here. We met the owners as we were leaving, lovely friendly people. They added such thoughtful touches in the cottage - a bottle of wine and Walsh biscuits/cookies come to mind. We had to help the taxi drivers find the place, which was challenging since weâd never been there before. Not sure what you can do about that ⦠send them all a map? We give the bed an 8 out of 10 for comfort and size, but everything else was perfect. Plenty of hot water, plenty of outlets (none in the bathroom though, is that a UK thing?), nice warm bedding, big towels.

This was a pleasant house with nice views, a good shower, comfortable bed and reasonably equipped kitchen.
HOWEVER:- - the ensuite was VERY small and there was no room for toiletries - there was no stippling on the shower tray and no mat either to prevent slipping - there were no extra toilet rolls -there were cobwebs on the lampshades and window vents, and dust on the skirting boards - in the kitchen, there was a piece of food stuck on the tap, and there was nowhere (apart from the hob) to place hot pans/trays - the torch in the kitchen was not working; we were threatened with power cuts during Storm Eunice - we were requested to place dirty linen in a bag but no bag was provided - an extra key would be good so that one can be left in the key safe and people can never be locked out Obviously some of these points are more important than others, but overall they contribute to a sense of a property not well serviced
