  We stayed during February half term & found masses to keep us busy – although locals mentioned it was out of season. Really? We’d love to return to see what we didn’t manage to get to! Particular highlights: beach walks (in the sunshine!) & beachcombing; relaxing after our walk in a cosy pub with friendly locals; wondering Tenby's streets discovering a plethora of superb quality local produce – the butcher, the Baker & the candlestick maker (in the form of the fantastic hardware shop), the market amongst others. Trips to St Davids & Pembroke Castle were memorable. Solva Woollen Mill’s working loom was a delight – I spotted their gorgeous bedspreads at Chart House! The Pembrokeshire Coast Path was stunning – especially the section from Barafundle Bay to St Govans & then towards Freshwater West. Returning to a roaring fire & rustic soup with gorgeous bread from the bakery was 7th heaven. Although just the 3 of us, the generous accommodation completely moulded to all our needs – our son was super impressed with the games room & took up residence in the snug lounge. We luxuriated in the 1st floor sitting room – such an inviting & tranquil space: total relaxation guaranteed! Something for everyone & all boxes ticked re entertainment choices. All the little touches are so welcoming – the basket with fantastic local produce, beautiful attention to interior detail, divine room fragrance. WHAT A SPECIAL HOME! A real sense of calm washed over us within minutes of arriving. We can't thank you enough for such a wonderfully relaxing week – I feel about 10 years younger!

  Wow that was my first reaction and after staying here Wow just didn't give it justice; neither did amazing and wonderful. High House is such a fab place to stay. The house is decorated to an extremely high standard and the attention to detail is absolutely superb. Beds are fabulous, decor is superb and the location is fantastic! I would like to thank Rural Retreats once again for your superb and extremely professional service and would like to add an extra special thank you to the owner who is just fantastic! My family and I spent a very special weekend here to celebrate my Dad's 80th Birthday and we couldn't have wished for better. Everyone had such a wonderful weekend. I have travelled extensively around the world and have been lucky enough to stay in some remarkable places: but High House is one of the most lovely and beautiful places I have ever stayed (they could give any 5 star hotel a real run for their money). Everyone commented that if they won the lottery this is one place they would want to buy! Thank you so so much for making my Dad's 80th Birthday weekend so special! The house was so wonderful that I didn't want to share it but felt that was unfair as it's such a special place. If you're reading this, book it, you will not be disappointed; this place is a complete gem!

  I wanted to offer some feedback after our stay at High House Tenby over Christmas. Overall,the house worked brilliantly for us.......fantastic location. A couple of things to mention..... I had rung your company and the house keeper in advance and asked for the Two single beds on the top floor to be made up into a king....this hadent happened,and also we had arranged our sleeping plan according to your info and photos on the webpage for the property........it's not set out correctly.....the bedrooms aren't on the floors you lead people to believe........please check this for future residents,as it does impact on how one configures ones family. Thirdly......there was a lot of dust around the house......we were able to wipe it and leave marks with our fingers particularly on the light fitting in the dining room and the shelved area in the dining room. The oven door was smeared and needed a final polish ,there was also food residue on some of the kitchen unit handles.......and there were areas on the top floor where paint was missing.....
