  A lovely lodge.

  Well equipped with all that you need on a very quiet site. The power shower is incredible and the bed so comfy you dont want to get out of it!!! The owners left an emergency pack for the dog and cake to welcome us which were both a really nice touch. You can walk to the nearest beach which is about 0.8mile away. The beach is dog friendly and there is a good pub down there too (also dog friendly) a little bit further down the road is Amroth where the New Inn does amazing food and is again dog friendly. The lodge was in an ideal situation to explore Pembrokeshire. Whether you want castles or beaches or adventure parks, all are within at most an hour away. We were really amazed at how dog friendly Pembrokeshire is with the majority of beaches being dog friendly all year round. Also worth a visit are The National Botanic Gardens and the Blue Lagoon. The best beach we found for excellent facilities was Coppet Hall Beach, very small but the cafe and toilets there were brilliant. If you want shops, a short walk away is Saundersfoot . All in all a lovely place to stay and the lodge as a base was superb.

  We had a great week at the Hideaway.

  There were just a few things that could have made the holiday a little easier. The kitchen was adequate. Having stayed in a number if lodges it was surprising to find a small fridge and not a fridge/freezer. The small ice box at the top of the fridge was iced up and the little door would not close properly. There was a lack of baking trays in the lodge which made cooking challenging. There was a dishwasher but we didn't use if as there wasn't enough crockery for a full day's use. There was also a smell of dog urine in the small entrance hall, this was disguised by a very strong smelling air freshener when we arrived but became apparent after a day or 2. The furniture in the lounge was comfortable but a little dated, there was a very small arm chair that was low to the ground which once my father sat in (he is 87) it took two of use to get him out. All in all, the lodge just needs a bit of a make over and freshen up to bring it in line with the modern well equipped lodges that we are used to staying in.

  The internal accommodation itself was very comfortable and clean, had all the facilities you would expect and the hamper left for us was a nice touch.

  We were however disappointed to find that the Boathouse was in fact in the very narrow back yard of the owners house on a narrow plot in between other houses. This felt very hemmed in and meant you had to drive past the owners very large front window/patio doors when leaving and returning which wasn’t very private and quite disconcerting. We were also disappointed that the patio/parking area had builders equipment stacked and rubbish bins scattered around. All in all, this made it all feel very underwhelming and quite depressing which was a shame as the accommodation itself was comfortable and pleasant.

  This was our first stay in a lodge at Heritage Park, Stepaside and we were delighted. The site is beautifully cared for from the lovely lawns and borders to the accessibility of the recycling area. Our lodge was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Finally the walks surrounding the lodge and local places to visit were amazing, our dog especially loved the walk from the lodge to Wisemans Bridge and the unspoilt dog friendly beach.

  We loved this property.

  The downstairs shower was so powerful and both bathrooms were very nicely appointed. If you like a hard mattress then you’ll love the bed. For us we could have done with a topper. Great facilities including a dishwasher, washer and dryer - we didn’t need to use them but it’s nice to have the option. The two large sofas were extremely comfortable. The property was only about 5 minutes in the car to Tenby front. We would love to return.
