What our customers say about their holidays
Karen - Verified booking
The location is fabulous, perfect setting on the river, the owners are lovely.
However, the hut itself could do with a really good clean, I had to clean the cupboards before I put our food in there, whilst it wasn't 'dirty' as such there certainly could have been an improvement on the cleanliness, that said the bedding & towels were spotless. The bed & sofa take over the inside & I think there could be better use/arrangement of the furniture inside, also, the bed itself is not very comfortable, it was ok for x2 nights. It's basically a mini caravan with a double bed & large sofa, it has got a chemical loo inside (which you have to empty yourself), there is a toilet & shower block near by, if you want a shower ensure you take 20p & £1 coins (£1 is approx. 2.5 minutes) I would imagine, in the height of summer (we stayed early November), with the great decking area over-looking the river, it would be lovely chilling out there outside after a lovely walk around the Welsh countryside..

Perfect Spot for a Relaxing Getaway! We had such a great stay at this holiday home — honestly, it was even better than we expected. The location is beautiful and super peaceful, but still really convenient for getting to shops, restaurants, and things to do. It felt like a little escape from the hustle without being too remote. The place was spotless when we arrived, which we really appreciated. You can tell the owners take a lot of pride in keeping it clean and comfortable. Fresh towels, clean sheets, and everything smelled fresh. The house had everything we needed and more. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the bits and pieces to cook real meals, the Wi-Fi was solid. We especially loved hanging out on the patio in the evenings — such a nice bonus. All in all, it was a super cozy, well-equipped, and relaxing place to stay. We’d come back in a heartbeat!

This property is beautiful and is located in a stunning setting. We enjoyed watching the sunrise over the mountains and the fog moving through the valley, all whilst tucked up inside a cosy, warm house. The building has been refurbished to a very high standard and has benefitted from someone with an eye for detail. The palette of materials and different styles work well together, resulting in spaces that are inviting and comfortable both inside and out. Covering the hot tub with a gazebo ensured that it can be enjoyed even when the weather turns inclement. Though the property seems quite remote, it is only a 10min car journey to the nearest village, a 15min journey to Coed y Brenin Forest Park for some lovely purpose built bike and walking trails and 30mins to Zipworld. We absolutely loved our time here and are looking at when we can come back!

There was no 'welcome' pack, so we had to go out and buy in milk, tea, salt, pepper, sugar, spread, oil etc. ..not ideal at the end of a 5 hour drive. No bleach or other cleaning agents, no shower gel. No 'how to use the thermostat / telly / microwave' etc instructions, unless you include the instructions for how to install a boiler (which were hidden away at the back of a cupboard). No indoor facilities to eat at - a folding table / chairs would have been handy! Microwaves are ok, but their use is limited, really, to heating up ready meals. Accommodation was basically OK, but not very good value for money. Sorry to be so negative - we don't make a habit of it, but we were expecting more for our money. This feedback is for your info only, we aren't trying to put others off (rather, we don't want others to feel let down)

We really enjoyed our stay in "Y Dowlod" at Gelli Goch. The properties here are in an excellent location for visiting the southern region of Snowdonia National Park and the Mawddach estuary, we didn't need to drive far to get anywhere and some days walked directly from the property. We liked the design and feel of the interior of our converted loft with the solid wooden flooring and slate worktops. It is cosy for two and was always warm when returning from a day out on the hills, it was even nicer to know that the place was heated and powered with a green energy system - even the toilet flushed with harvested rainwater! The mattress was a little hard for us but that might just be personal preference. Very friendly hosts and the welcome pack of goodies was a nice touch.
