What our customers say about their holidays
Amanda - Verified booking
The flat itself, was very well presented and clean.
Two lovely balconies with sea views, TV in the lounge and both bedrooms, a jacuzzi bath and hot tub. It has the feel of a luxury 5 star however........ There were a few niggles that stop me giving this rental the 5th star. The parking facilities. Although we were aware there was only parking for one car, and it was allocated, it is at the bottom of a VERY steep driveway. there are 2 other dwellings underneath this flat, another holiday rental, also with one car parking space, and another dwelling that had 2 cars. Sometimes these two cars obstructed / made it very difficult to exit the steep driveway. who wants to reverse up a very long 45 degree drive onto a residential road. I feel the available outside space, that had 2 garages, could have been utilised better for residents parking. These next points may seem picky, but I think, worth noting. The dining table has strange 'legs.' If you're sat at either end, it's fine, but if you are sat at the side, you can't get your feet underneath and I bashed my knees finding this out. The shower, although fantastic, had no shelve inside for soap/shampoo etc, which meant putting them on the floor. Also there was no hook directly outside the shower for a towel/dressing gown which again, means putting them on the floor - and it got very wet when opening the shower door. (There are hooks on the back of the bathroom door, but it's on the other side of the shower cubicle.) Whilst there are amazingly deep drawers under the bathroom sink, again a shelve for soap/tooth brush etc, would have been appreciated. There are no curtains in the bedrooms, only slatted blinds. I was in the double room at the beginning of July, which meant the sun poured in at dawn and woke me very early. It seems there was a curtain pole at sometime, as three holes have been filled in directly above the window. A picky point but, the reading lights above the beds are placed so high up, I had to get out of bed to turn them off, a bit impractical. It might be an idea to lower them, or have bedside lamps.... Some of the kitchen utensils need upgrading, the tin opener is naff and didn't work well! My personal preference, I didn't like the faded plastic foliage in tubs outside the flat. It's almost a luxury flat and I felt these detracted from the image. Other than that, it's a very well presented property aiming to cater for all your needs. Just these few things, in my opinion, would take it to the next level.

My mother and I stayed here recently for a few days.
When we arrived we were so taken aback with how beautiful this place this. The wooden lodge is very attractive and blends in with itâs surroundings. The location is extremely pretty. It is exactly like the photos, although I would say it is not as close to the fields as it appears in the photos. We liked the location because it was out in the countryside, quiet, peaceful, pretty and secluded. We were situated beside a small woods which I enjoyed watching and listening to the birds appear from. We were surrounded by shrubs and bushes which were really pretty. Faraway fields is very well thought out. The lodge was clean (bar the odd cobweb), the interior was to a high standard, yet cosy but with plenty of space for the 2 of us. The main eating/ relaxing area was light, airy and spacious. We appreciated that we were given a bottle of milk for a cup of tea when we arrived, and liked this thoughtful touch. The hot tub was amazing, perfect temperature and we were in there a lot! However, not all the jets worked which was a shame. The master bedroom suited me well, beautiful bathroom, dressing area & wardrobe with a nice amount of luxury hangers. Unfortunately the bed was not a king size, but 2 twins put together so please be aware of this as it is not the most comfortable with a gap in the middle so canât move around a lot. There was some paint coming off the corner wall in the master, which looked a bit shabby. The twin beds in the other bedroom my mother said weâre uncomfortable (she tried both) and asked me to lie in them to see if it was just her. However I too, felt a dip in the bed. The host in reception were polite, friendly and helpful but also left us to enjoy our stay which was much appreciated. We were undisturbed by our neighbours and didnât hear a thing from them which was lovely and made our stay all the more relaxing. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked another for next year.

Just want to start off by saying this property has lovely views and lots of areas to relax and chill out in.
One big issue I will say is that the cottage has zero household essentials. As soon as we arrived after a 5 hour drive, there was NO hand wash in the bathroom- which was poor. A look around the kitchen proved that there was nothing except some sugar sachets. We had to spend £30 extra on getting the household basics such as kitchen roll, fairy liquid, salt, pepper, tea, milk etc. This cottage was really lacking in basic facilities. We have stayed in air bnbs before but have never had such a poorly stocked house before! It was comical that there was a dolce gusto coffee machine available to use but no coffee pods! Our stay was okay, we enjoyed the balconies however the bigger one could have been cleaned as the floor had alot of stones and general dirt! The hot tub was lovely however again could have been cleaned as there was lots of leaves, dirt on the floor. Another problem we dealt with was the Google maps address and the âwhat three wordsâ provided to use on arrival. The W3W code sent you to the wrong house on the street! We were shocked as âwhat three wordsâ is supposed to be extremely accurate however we had to go around the street 3 times before we ignored the Google maps link and W3W and just manually looked for the house! Overall we enjoyed our stay however there were a few issues that made our stay a a little problematic.

Woodpecker is in a great location with peaceful surroundings and a fantastic rural view. The short walk down and around the lake was a hit with the kids. We were met with sunshine, showers and heavy wind at some points (March), but that didnât stop us from firing up the hot tub (allow plenty of time for this) and jumping in it when the wind had died down and the sun came out, perfect! The honesty shop is fabulous for recharging the lanterns supplied and picking up any additional fire lighting equipment, candles, not to mention the games, books and even a fridge with designated shelf for each tent. With it being a March booking, we made use of the winter blankets and hot water bottles (very thankful for these!), also thankful for the unlimited logs to keep the log burner topped up. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, washing up liquid, hand soap and even kitchen roll. The gas stove was very handy for cooking (as well as on top of the stove), and boiling the kettle. We were very impressed with the toilet flush, lots of power considering it was in the middle of a field and the showers were also sufficient. The site manager was very attentive and was on hand if and when needed. I would definitely recommend this holiday to others and would love to stay again. Thank you Glamping Hideaways!
