The facilities at Southdown Luxury Glamping are second to none. The accommodations was spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed to provide maximum comfort. With plush bedding, a cozy wood-burning stove, and a well-equipped kitchenette, it felt like a home away from home—but with a far better view! The attention to detail was evident in every corner, from the tasteful décor to the top-notch amenities that made our stay feel truly luxurious. The private hot tub was an absolute highlight, allowing us to unwind under the stars in complete privacy. The surrounding environment added to the magic. We were completely enveloped by the serene countryside, where the only sounds were the gentle rustling of leaves and the melodic calls of local wildlife. It was impossible not to feel a sense of peace and relaxation, especially when enjoying a morning coffee on the deck. The location is fantastic, offering the best of both worlds—secluded and peaceful yet within easy reach of charming villages and beautiful walking trails. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the local area, but we also loved returning to our little haven at Southdown, where we felt utterly relaxed and rejuvenated. Overall, Southdown Luxury Glamping exceeded all expectations. It’s the perfect choice for anyone looking to disconnect, recharge, and enjoy the tranquillity of nature without compromising on comfort.   I think that the write up and photos just don’t do this property justice.

  It is not clear on your site that there is only the one hut in situ and that the hot tub was just for us to use. A number of huts we looked at before this property on your site made it clear that we would be sharing facilities. (Which we did not want) So we took a chance anyway that it was just going to be us and WOW it was amazing we had everything we could have wanted to escape. We were at the very end of a long drive through fields and were nested in beautiful opening, surrounded by fields to the sides as well as a large duck pond and in back of us was more fields and in front was the river Trent and more fabulous views of woods and fields. Which blow us away. We were made very welcome by our host who once we were set up left us to it. But was at the end of the phone to help which she did quickly and with a warm manner with the questions and help we needed. Once we were settled in we did not see anyone. It was one of the best experiences we have had and managed to relax and unwind from a busy lifestyle. The walls offered breathtaking views we walked for hours and only came across sleep, (who followed us up to the next gate very friendly!) cows (which enjoyed making us walk round them and as soon as we did they moved off the path lol) and one fish man who friendly chat and guidance to a pub. It you are thinking of escaping this is the place to go I cannot put into words just how amazing this place was a true hidden gem that you must added to your bucket list !!!

  We were amazed!

  I wanted to surprise my wife for our 10 year wedding anniversary and yes we both were surprised. The setting was beautiful! The accommodation was fantastic! The owners were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. It has lots of supermarkets, a petrol station and pub/restaurant around the area. It is about an hour away from a beach. Where we had a fantastic day out. If we didn't go out we could have a relaxing time in the hottub, play some games (that were provided). Then in the evening light the fire, have a BBQ and relax. We have already recommended to our friends and family and will definitely be booking again. Overall a relaxing, fun and romantic holiday! Thanks for having us. Bonus there was a massive swing for an adult to swing on haha!

  Our stay was perfect.

  The lodge had everything we needed and was spotless. The aesthetic of the grounds as well as the interior was gorgeous and so well though out. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming, allowing us to feed the sheep before we left. Everyone was so helpful and made this retreat stress free. We loved the many features like the hot tub, the outdoor cold shower, the outdoor hob and log burner and the seating area under the canopy. Although not completely fenced off, the hut feels so private due to the gorgeous plants and trees surrounding. It was a perfect location and so peaceful. Me and my partner cooked dinner all 3 nights and had everything we needed to do so , so so happy with our stay and would definitely recommend to friends and family! Thankyou.

  Amazing 3 night break in portland hut.

  The owners have thought of everything they are so welcoming and go above and beyond for you whilst there. The outside space is by far the best out of the ones we've previously stayed at, as well as the decor and cleanliness of it all.....superb! The communal seating with fire pit is a great addition if travelling with friends and family. We also loved the church bells ringing the time, great for putting phones away and having a little reminder in the background. The only thing we were unhappy with was having to come home!! We have already recommended this place to a few friends and are booking 2 stays again for next year. We can't wait to return!
