What our customers say about their holidays

What a fabulous place Hartcliffe View is.
We have just returned from a weekend birthday celebration with all the family. 12 humans and 3 little dogs. Firstly this is a completely dog friendly place with a large walled garden, big dog bed, bowls etc. provided. The house has everything you could possibly need for your stay with a fully equipped kitchen and utility room- home away from home just bring your food- thereâs plenty of storage. Kitchen roll, bin bags, spices , condiments even ice for our evening tipple were all provided. The complimentary couple of bottles of red and tin of biscuits was much appreciated thank you Ed. The kitchen quickly became the hub of the house. On another note there were plenty of loo roll supplied for every bathroom which is not always the case with holiday rentals and there is a hairdryer in every room. The house is well presented and very clean. The large dining room meant we could sit down together and enjoy shared meals into the evening. The house is big enough for everyone to have their space with plenty of activities, the games room was a big hit as was the 70inch TV in the lounge with Sky Sports and a PlayStation. We hired the hot tub as an extra (just as an aside for me it should be included in the house hire as these days hot tubs usually are because who doesnât like a hot tub) and even though we had inclement weather it was great to sit with a glass of fizz taking in the lovely farm land views. We had an 18 month old toddler with us - the supply of a baby gate, cot, soft play area, bath toys and high chairs were very welcome ! We visited the friendly local pub- open fire, pool table and dart board for a quick drink after walking in the area - plenty of countryside walks round there. All in all we had a thoroughly lovely time and can all highly recommend Hartcliffe - we will be back - thanks for your hospitality Ed ! Wendy and the Von Trapp Family Singers !

The cottage was lovely and the surroundings were perfect for short walks and bike rides, straight out of the door.
The kitchen was very well-equipped and the photos do not lie - the place is beautifully decorated, fitted out with good quality furniture, plenty of kitchen storage, everything worked as it should, and there was plenty of space for our family of five to relax. The ensuite shower room was very handy every day! Rachel was easy to contact for a daft thing (missing tea towels and an oven glove) which she remedied within minutes of us asking, and she was around the farm to helpfully answer some questions about the local area. Even though it was literally next door to the farmhouse we were almost unaware of being near it, with the parking space, the "front" door and rear garden being set away from it, so we felt it was private and we had the place to ourselves. The hot tub was a winner with the children and it was lovely to be able to sit in it and look across the valley, seeing nothing but hills, sheep, cows and couple of farmhouses on the other side of the reservoir. There is a slight inescapable niggle that you have to go out the door, across the stone pavers and around the corner to the rear of the property in your swimwear to get in it, but much of a problem. It's a VERY old building, nicely restored and very comfortable - I won't complain that they haven't knocked through the chimney wall to put a patio door in! . There is a storage building for bikes - it is very simple to get out and do a couple of miles circuit around the reservoir, across the dam, or go a bit further for some hill climbs, which made a 6-miler seem much further! Under-floor heating was nice (though it was warm so could not report it's efficiency if it was winter) Very happy with the place, and would recommend it.

We were a group ranging in age from 11 months to 81.
The house suited our needs perfectly, catering for everyone. We required ground floor sleeping accomodation as well as downstairs living and socialising areas as our elderly member could not access the stairs. Once again, the house proved perfect for this. Sleeping accomodation catered really well for 2 couples, a couple with a baby and a family. The play pen provided by our hosts proved invaluable as we were able to relax as baby played happily and safely in the pen. The extensive grounds were enjoyed by all, particularly as the weather was lovely. We hired 2 hot tubs and these were used and enjoyed by all. We hired Tom and Mark to cook a meal to celebrate a special birthday and this was excellent. The games room on the top floor was perfect for the children aged 10 and 12 and the adults joined in too. A great time was had by all. We were lucky that Ed and Kim were staying next door and could attend to any (very minor) issues. Thank you! Everyone in the party was very complimentary about the house and are looking forward to returning. Thank you so much to Ed and Kim for their hospitality and generosity (the wine and biscuits were much appreciated). Thank you so much.

Our family get together at this beautiful venue was very Special!
Not only were we meeting up to celebrate our Mother/Grandma/&Great Grandmas' Birthday, but we were getting together to be with our little 'new additions' to family, whom i had only seen once, due to Lockdown. An exciting time had by all of us! The property was FABULOUS! Everything we could ever need for a relaxing holiday, which we all had throughout our stay! The house was a delight, exceptional care to detail, fresh bedding & towels, spotlessly clean throughout and a welcome pack of bread&butter, tea&coffee&milk, as well as a Lovely suprise bottle of Prosecco! We enjoyed every minute of our stay, the beautiful countryside, farm animals surrounding the fields, and relaxing evenings watching the sun go down and moon rise in the sky... all from the warm, relaxing bubbles in the Hot tub! Our little 'Adventurers', aged 7 & almost 2 enjoyed the run around the lovely lawned garden and visits to watch cows, sheep, chickens and horses really tired them on an evening, so were ready to relax in Hot Tub before bed and a good sleep, refreshed next day! Thankyou for making our family break special, we will definately be staying here again soon!

Wow. What can we say.
Lived up to all our expectations and more. This holiday home had EVERYTHING we needed - and more. Every time we thought - would be super handy if they had something, weâd look and find it. So what was great? It was super clean, really comfortable, incredibly well fitted out and in a beautiful location. We used the hot tub company which was great too. All beds were super comfy. The games room was so much fun. The kids loved having a TV in every room (you think you wouldn't need this, but itâs really handy!). We loved the attention to detail - it very much feels like itâs been designed to be an ideal holiday vacation property. The owners are also super nice and helpful - Ed couldnât have done more for us. Lots of communication. One thing to note: there is a huge marble staircase and a spiral staircase - both of which are amazing, but we had a 3 year old with us who we needed to watch all the time on both. Younger kids (under6) need to be supervised in the games room. Thanks again for such a great stay, we really hope to be back!
