Would never have booked with this company had we known. Above is from part of the email received today following complaint. Booked Palm tree cottage on the Isle of Wight this summer and was meet with poor cleaning conditions , bins full up from previous occupants in a heat wave, clothes from previous, food in cupboards from previous. Dirty baking trays, stained cups, dog hair, cobwebs and dust everywhere and unusable bbq .As it was the summer holidays, we couldn’t find other accommodation and to come home early. It would have cost another £300 for the ferry. Called Sykes as soon as we got back and provided photos. Was originally told that owners would be contacted , hopefully resolved within a few days or they would take the matter further. Nearly two weeks later and all emails and messages were ignored. Finally got through today and spoke to an arrogant, rude and unprofessional agent who told me he would be happy to hear from my solicitor and Sykes are basically money grabbers. Don’t book the cottage or use this company.

  We had a wonderful week at 34, Station Avenue!

  The house is a bit of a ‘tardis’: from the street, it looks like a normal terraced house but there is so much space inside! On arrival, the owners had thoughtfully left us bread and milk plus some biscuits - thank you so much. All the interior design was lovely, with high ceilings and original features which made it feel quite grand, and the whole house felt bright and well presented. My husband particularly loved all the lamp shades! My children LOVED having their own ‘kids’ lounge’, all the bedrooms were well proportioned with really comfy mattresses, the kitchen and dining room were great and it was handy having the utility space. One of the highlights was definitely the hot tub - it got a fair bit of use! Sandown felt a bit run-down, but it’s really well positioned to explore lots of other places on the island. The house is also really close to the High Street, where there is a Coop and Sainsburys. The only negatives were the showers, which were lovely and hot but just didn’t have much power to them. Apparently they were being replaced the week after we left! The oven also took a bit of working out - some instructions would have been helpful - but we got there! We all said it’s the best holiday house we’ve stayed in and would thoroughly recommend it for other families. (We were parents, two children aged 12 and 10, and my mother-in-law with her small dog.)   Little Haven overall was a wonderful property that looked exactly like the photos.

  It was very clean inside and a special shout out to Darren who cleans and services the hot tub, he keeps it in tip top condition and is very knowledgeable passing on reassurances that its safe to use. Now for the accommodation itself there are many pro's: -very clean inside -spacious -lovely big fridge and washing machine -plenty of cookware in good condition overall -fantastic location -parking onsite -very bright and airy inside -comfy sofa's There were just a couple of cons which unfortunately did affect our stay: -the mattresses were very sunken on both sides and you could feel every spring. It did make for a very uncomfortable week unfortunately which affected our sleep and resulted in the last couple of nights sleeping on the sofa. -no tv in the double room. Not the end of the world but would make a difference if one was present. Overall we would happily book again if there were new mattresses on the beds or at least some foam or cushioned toppers to make the beds bareable. Property, location and garden/hot tub were fabulous otherwise.

  This was a really beautiful apartment a d the owner clearly has a flare for interior design as the decor and details were lovely throughout.

  The apartment was not short if anything, it had all you would need for your stay plus more! The outside space is fab, lots if room, lovely garden and decking area, lots of seating, we were blessed with weather so spent ot if time enjoying the outside space. The hot tub was a fab added bonus, and we used this most days we were here, big amd spacious with lighting for evenings under the stars, unfortunatley not all of the jets worked which was a shame but not enough of an issue to ruin our time, and I'm sure we could have called maintenance if needed and it would be fixable. Location wise, its fab, shops and eateries close by and old shanklin is stunning with lovely pubs. The esplanade is not fat to walk or there is plenty of park if you drove and its gorgeous down there. The apartment is a shared block, but has a private entrance and the garden area is very private and we didn't find privacy an issue. I have already reccomended to friends and would happily return to stay again. :)

  Absolutely loved staying here.

  Perfect location for exploring that side of the island with loads of different cafes and pubs around. Although we stayed between renovations, the house itself was charmingly decorated with lovely finishes. Mattresses and pillows were very comfy and hot tub was lovely! Jon was on hand if we needed anything and provided us with lots of information about the house and area, as well as leaving us with anything we could need (including a cute little dishwasher tablet/tea towel arrangement!) Only negative feedback is the bed frame in one of the rooms was a bit creaky and the water pressure/temperature in the bathrooms and kitchen. Obviously as a work in progress, a lick of paint is needed here and there but it didn't dampen our stay. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!
