What our customers say about their holidays

Very well equipped and tastefully fitted out barn conversion.
This is located in an extremely quiet hamlet just outside Oughtibridge. Sheffield is just a 10 minute drive, but if you go the other direction you are presented with miles of open countryside. Itâs a great location. Oughtibridge has a number of pubs and takeaways ( I recommend The Pheasant) Going back to the accommodation, there are some lovely touches. The kitchen is amazing with a massive central island made from railway sleepers. (as are many things around the accommodation. A huge fridge freezer, dishwasher, loads of cutlery and utensils and lots of crockery and glasses. We have been to so many places where there are 4 cups and four plates etc. Not here! Also downstairs is a marvellous utility room with loads of space for all the muddy shoes, coats etc. Bedrooms are all doubles and beds are extremely comfortable . The master bedroom has an en-suite and huge French windows giving the most amazing view. Minor criticism is that the rooms could do with a bit more storage for clothes. There is a downstairs toilet and shower. Beautiful family bathroom upstairs with twin wash basins and walk in shower. (en suite also has a walk in shower. The showers were excellent though the owner might want to think about fitting a glass screen, as itâs easy to flood the floor. The living area is comfy and has a massive 78 inch smart TV. Everyone loved this. Another feature of this place is all the lighting. There are lights everywhere enabling you to create whatever lighting mood you like. The only problem was knowing which switches to turn on and off/dim. I think I counted 32 light switches downstairs. I think it would be a good idea to label them or do a diagram,! Outside, garden furniture is plentiful with a big outdoor sofa and table set outside the front and another nest to the private hot tub. The hot tub is huge and was very pleasant. Itâs a few yards away from the house and when itâs dark could do with a bit of outside lighting, but again a minor issue. The owner , Simon is a great host, very welcoming and always available to contact if you need anything. Plenty of private parking. There is a large lawned area big enough to exercise a dog, which is shared with the other cottage on the same piece of land. Overall, highly recommended .

A Serene Escape at Southdown Luxury Glamping: A Perfect Blend of Comfort and Nature From the moment we arrived at Southdown, we knew we were in for a truly special experience.
Nestled in a tranquil, picturesque setting, this hidden gem offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The combination of luxury and nature here is simply unbeatable. The facilities at Southdown Luxury Glamping are second to none. The accommodations was spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed to provide maximum comfort. With plush bedding, a cozy wood-burning stove, and a well-equipped kitchenette, it felt like a home away from homeâbut with a far better view! The attention to detail was evident in every corner, from the tasteful décor to the top-notch amenities that made our stay feel truly luxurious. The private hot tub was an absolute highlight, allowing us to unwind under the stars in complete privacy. The surrounding environment added to the magic. We were completely enveloped by the serene countryside, where the only sounds were the gentle rustling of leaves and the melodic calls of local wildlife. It was impossible not to feel a sense of peace and relaxation, especially when enjoying a morning coffee on the deck. The location is fantastic, offering the best of both worldsâsecluded and peaceful yet within easy reach of charming villages and beautiful walking trails. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the local area, but we also loved returning to our little haven at Southdown, where we felt utterly relaxed and rejuvenated. Overall, Southdown Luxury Glamping exceeded all expectations. Itâs the perfect choice for anyone looking to disconnect, recharge, and enjoy the tranquillity of nature without compromising on comfort. Highly recommended for couples, or anyone seeking a unique and luxurious glamping experience!

Top Hill Farm Cottage is in a beautiful location and the inside has been presented in a modern way.
We booked having looked at the photographs on the website but I feel I must warn others that these photos are not up to date and that the presentation and cleanliness of the property is not accurately represented. The outside area especially was extremely disappointing. The hot tub was a health hazard with dirty water, green algae around and filters covered in slime- absolutely incapable of filtering anything. The lid of the hot tub is broken so it lets in rain water. The outside furniture is very tired and the cushions are filthy. There were broken plant pots and old broken furniture left around. The fire pit had not been cleared nor the grass mown as shown in the photographs. The view from the bedroom is countryside but also the building site next door. I take no pleasure in writing this review but I feel compelled to as in its current state it will leave others feeling as bitterly disappointed as we were. I have contacted the owner directly but he hasnât responded. He has to accept that he needs support to maintain the âoutstandingâ grade of his property. It is not âoutstandingâ currently so please book with caution. Additionally, Sykes are impossible to communicate with if you do have a problem. Please read your booking conditions as it seems they have no interest in quality control and ensuring their properties are accurately represented on their website. Who knows what you could arrive at.

This detached little cottage has been really sensitively modernised, with cleverly warm and light-increasing touches.
Comfy, stylish, solid, spotlessly clean, good value. Many lovely walks and drives from here (v well-maintained public footpaths everywhere), genuine sense of peace, and we loved the view, hot tub and range of garden furniture. When the promised wood-burning stove gets added, it'll feel perfect in all weathers - although the heating looks adequate already. It's not within the (overcrowded) Peak District itself but still in a lovely landscape, and many attractions aren't far. I didn't want to come home. I could only quibble with a few tiny practical details: I'd've liked a few more mugs, one living-room lightbulb bright enough to let you read on the sofa, a bannister rail and soft surface at the bottom of the staircase (which is steep and narrow-stepped as in all genuine cottages - unsuited for mobility-impaired or small kids); a small dishwasher would be handier than the storage for 40 (!) bottles of wine. But the kitchen is well-equipped, and the walk-in shower is excellent (no bath btw). Didn't use the firepit or bbq, but great to have. If you're a dog owner do be aware: as the photos show, garden is shared and not enclosed, and sheep graze one field away, so a long lead might help. But your pup will love the walks here, and the furnishings are very practical. Two dog bowls were kindly left, but you'll want to bring your pup's own bed.

An absolutely gorgeous cottage with stunning views of the country side, we saw plenty of wildlife from the comfort of the living room.
The hot tub was amazing, fully adjustable to our preferences (lights, heat, jets/bubbles), one of the headrests was not properly attached so kept coming off, the owner is aware of this and it doesnt affect use of the hot tub at all. The outdoor area looks amazing, an abundance of cushions for it and there were some really good outdoor lights that lit up the garden perfectly. The beds were comfortable and warm and the heating in the house was also adjustable to how we liked it. The owner had left takeout menus which was helpful and there were boardgames in the ottomans which was a nice touch. The kitchen facilities were amazing and there was plenty of space to prep etc. We did have to rewash the dishes as they were not properly cleaned from the previous people, small amounts of food/sauce left on various things which was not a big deal for us and we'd typically rewash dishes when staying away from home anyhow. There was also a few lamp lights not working. The location is great it is far enough away to be tranquil and peaceful but not so far that you feel like you're driving forever to get to the shops. About a 5 min drive to the nearest village. The owner was excellent and quick at communicating with us when we had any questions or comments.
