What our customers say about their holidays
Katrina - Verified booking
The only good thing about this cottage was the cat that visited us daily, he was absolutely gorgeous, aside from his company, the stay was awful.
We had expected more from all the great reviews recently written. The first night, we got into the hottub and immediately my legs started to itch terribly, we didn't stay long in the hottub due to this discomfort and when we got out, our legs were red raw, we immediately attempted to wash what we assumed was too much chlorine off, in the shower but still our legs remained itchy and sore. The shower is a wet room and the flooring is not designed for this purpose, it is so slippery and I ended up slipping and falling on the floor that same evening, fortunately I did not hurt myself too badly. We then decided to have some food, only to find that there was nothing in sight to take anything out of the oven, no oven glove or tea towel so we gave up and went to bed, which was the most uncomfortable experience, the bedding looked as if it should have been thrown away years back. It was awful quality and rough. The next morning, we decided to speak to the owner about the hot tub and then go out for the day and try to make the most of the weekend. We would pick up some tea towels and attempt the hotub again that evening. I will say that the owner was very nice about the hottub situation and did say it would be sorted by the time we got back. Although, she did mention that it had been checked before we arrived. That evening, the owner came to see us and advised us that the hottub had been emptied and refilled and that the issue was that there had been too much chlorine in there (even though it had been checked)? We gave the hot tub another try but didn't last long in there before we had to get out again. I'm not sure if the damage had already been done and our skin could take no more or if the issue had not been resolved. We did not return to the hottub after that, which is a shame as we'd only chosen this cottage due to the covered hot tub. The other issue with our stay was the lack of attention to detail where cleanliness was concerned. The house was generally clean, such as the beds and worktops but the draining board looked as if it had not been cleaned in months and I'd had to scrub it clean to be able to put any clean utensils on it. The bathroom mirror had long hairs all over it and the bathroom walls were mouldy. We had initially thought we would go home on the Friday but decided to make the most of being away by going into Saundersfoot and Tenby but we were really disappointed in this cottage and this put a dampener on the whole weekend. To top it all off, due to the chemical burns from the hot tub, when we got home, our skin was bad for over a week and we had to get treatment from the pharmacy. We will not be visiting this place again. I wasn't going to leave a review but thought people needed to be warned about the hot tub and very dangerous bathroom floor. I'm fortunate that I am quite young and didn't hurt myself when I fell but I would be concerned if this happened to an older person.

The owner called prior to our trip with helpful and clear instructions for locating the cottage, parking etc and some very helpful local knowledge.
Milk Wood is a beautifully refurbished cottage in the heart of the vibrant village and exceeded our expectations. A quiet location amongst breathtaking scenery with extremely friendly and welcoming locals. Warm and cool this traditional cottage was a haven. A tranquil garden to relax in and deadhead added to the peace of the setting and just a short walk to pubs, restaurants, shops or the castle. Lots to see and do in the village in the heart of Dylan country or a short cars ride awayâ¦amroth and pendine both have beautiful long beaches. Couldnât have asked for more and will definitely be back, inspiring, relaxing and restorative.

A clean and comfortable stay.
The cottage was well furnished and decor of a good standard. Great location in the heart of lovely and peaceful Laugharne. We were able to park outside the property. The rear garden which is paved / gravel is pretty and was safe for my small dog. . Just remember to duck when you go through the front doors. Once inside height is fine. Close to a local convenience store which is just 5 mins walk down the hill plus a deli, cafes and pubs and a nice gift shop. Dylan Thomas boathouse, grave and Brownâs were all just a short walk away. We would happily stay here again.

We were so pleased, on entering Milk Wood Cottage, to find a very bright clean and cosy cottage.
Every evening we lit the wood fire, taking and buying extra wood. Thee wood burner was particularly easy to light too. However, the central heating was super efficient - and remember - we visited in early January! Our luck was in , though, since we had bright, warm sun to walk and picnic in every day barr the last! The internet was splendid for me to tutor from at a lovely big table. Our hosts left all we could possibly need on the first evening! Suffice to say we would have stayed on - and on - had not life called us back! Dr. Sue Houseago

The cottage was clean and comfortable.
A dripping tap was resolved promptly. A set of drawers would be useful in the small room off the twin bedroom, especially if older children or adults were using that room. The property summary online, states that there is "allocated parking for 1 car to the side of the property". This suggests it is adjacent to the property and although the location wasn't a problem for us, it might be for some people, eg,if it was bad weather when unloading/loading luggage, especially if arriving in the evening as there is no lighting on the path.
