What our customers say about their holidays
Sam - Verified booking
We have been very lucky over the years and have enjoyed many a holiday.
I can honestly say that this week in Marazion is my favourite and a major contributing factor to our wonderful experience is the gorgeous accommodation we stayed in. Ocean View is stylish yet cosy; modern and very comfortable. The cleanliness was great; the finishing touches lovely and we actually spent numerous mornings and evenings just chilling, watching tv, completing jigsaws and sitting watching St Michaelâs Mount through the three different windows with a glorious view! We are an active family of four (two adults, 6 year old and 3 year old) so the stairs up to the apartment were no problem for us. Love a bit of cardio! It may be tricky for someone with mobility issues though. The bedrooms were thoughtfully put together with comfy beds, lots of storage and bedside lamps. Whilst the blinds werenât completely blackout (we were there in August so sun shines early) the rooms were pleasantly dark when it was time for the little ones to go to bed. The bathroom has been fitted to a very high standard. The shower is lovely ( our kids âhatedâ showers on arrival and loved the shower at Ocean View!) the sink and toilet are quite high so the three year old needed a helping hand hopping on and off the loo and washing her hands but it really wasnât an issue. The high bathroom mirror suited my 6â2 husband and so I (5â2) made use of the plentiful other mirrors in the flat when I needed to do hair/makeup. The kitchen facilities were awesome - we used the dishwasher daily and thanks to the washing machine and airer provided, I was able to do laundry most days, drastically reducing my usual post holiday laundry session! Also enjoyed hoovering a couple of times after beach days. Some people may think Iâm bonkers for doing that (my husband being one of them) but having such a well appointed and perfectly equipped flat honestly made life so much easier and enjoyable while we were away. The weather was good but not amazing so we spent a good chunk of time sat watching the television/reading. The sofas were comfy, the kids snuggled under the gorgeously soft blankets and Mum and Dad enjoyed a cuppa and a slower pace of life. The TV allowed access to Netflix, Disney+ etc so tired little ones were easily entertained after busy days exploring Cornwall. The car park is as narrow as other reviews state and even my determined, experienced driver of a husband admitted that our estate wasnât going to get in and out easily or without a 20 point turn. We instead opted to book a parking space just down the road (5 minute walk) and that suited us perfectly. Iâd recommend booking in advance. I believe we used âJust Park.â The hosts very kindly provided a welcome pack of Cornish tea, coffee, biscuits and milk which was very gratefully received! Finding the superb information pack on arrival ensured we had all the necessary information about appliances and protocols in the flat as well as countless amazing recommendations for places to visit/explore/eat. Honestly I could go on, but Iâll stop there. Needles to say, we will 100% look to stay at Ocean View again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy, charming and modern place to stay in Cornwall.

You need to check that light bulbs are working as several were out throughout the property. The one in our bedroom was too high to reach to even change ourselves. You have a washer and outside line but no pegs. No change of bedding or towels half way through and we didn’t have the facilities to wash and dry ourselves. This is the first time in 10 years visiting Cornwall this has happened and is unacceptable. There were no instructions for the cooker. The back garden is poorly kept, has weeds coming through the artificial grass, neighbours trees growing over the fence and is pretty grubby windows. We were unable to use barbecue as it is very rusty and had a bag of rubbish in it. Only 2 high rusty seats which meant we couldn’t use the garden. It’s clear from other reviews that they received cream teas and we received a pack of biscuits which is the worst welcome pack we have had. Nowhere to hang coats as this had clearly been broken but never put back up which was just two screws but left inside the cupboard downstairs. This meant our coats smelled of cooking as they had to be placed on chairs in kitchen. The 5 coat hangers in a talllboy is not enough for 2 people for two weeks so we lived out of suitcases for the duration of our stay. There were clearly enough space in both bedrooms for proper wardrobes. Again this is the worst we have experienced with other cottage providers. You have a soundbar and speaker yet the TV is not even HD. The whole house had cobwebs throughout especially in the wooden lampshades, around the fire, on the walls, ceilings and beams. Finally please invest in proper pillows as they were cheap and uncomfortable. We The amount of money we paid was a lot for a disappointing stay. It seems that too much emphasis is on aesthetics rather than basic comfort, and amenities. It seems like a minimum in and maximum out mentality is at the forefront of this cottage.

Sorry to say that we were very disappointed with this property and do not consider it as value for the money we paid. There were numerous problems, notably the spa bath was unusable as the pop up plug was u/s, front bedroom window could not be fully closed leaving a gap which was not good with the strong winds that were encountered during our visit - plugged gap with kitchen roll. Kitchen plinth heater had been switched off, this made that area very cold. Eventually found isolator to switch it on. We were not confident enough to use the freezer section of the fridge freezer as we found defrosted ice cube bags and the circulating fan was iced up. During the stay we also became aware of there being several loose balusters at the top and bottom of the stairs. Owner did pay a visit at the beginning of our stay, we pointed out the problems which we had found at that time, being the window and freezer, he did look at the window but could not fix the problem and for the freezer he said it needed defrosting. In general we consider that the property now needs a little bit of TLC to repair the cracks and flaked plaster and redecoration. Have given a 'good' ratings for equipment and comfort, these would have been 'very good' if everything was fully functional.

We have just spent a week at ocean view, my partner and I, &my daughter and her partner.
Its a fabulous apartment, fantastic location for walking to restaurants locally and for touring around ftom. Thr facilities within the apartment are great, including the beds, which are really comfy. The only downside is parking, which is tight, a tiny street ( wide enough for one car) and you turn st an angle to enter the carpark and your space is the tightest up against a wall...it'd long enough for a bigger car, however you could get wedged turning back onto the street and easily scrape your car, we have a vauxhall astra and it was tight, we mastered it, but one of us guided in and out, of the space and street, our stay was not helped by the flat downstairs had two vehicles in the car park one of which as you first enter was a long van, so restricted the drive in turn. It was easier when they left and the new visitors only had one small car, made the car park easier. You enter the property by the red door at the front, then the flat door inside, we didn't think this was clear, ( and arrived mid torrential thunder and lightening storm) as you park at the rear and there are some flat doors there. So you will need to take your luggage back up the street to your apartment. Don't let this put you off, there us nearby parking available for the week at £50 for the week that would make it easier. The apartment us beautiful and view and location is fantastic, enjoy.

Wow, a real home from home! The flat was amazing, so very spacious for a couple (and a pooch), we looked forward to coming 'home' after our day trips out. The bed was so comfy that we are considering a mattress topper! Everything very stylish, but not pretentiously so, and you knew you were in Cornwall. Kitchen had everything and more. A great place to explore the far end of England! Last day the weather was atrocious, but this didn't matter as we binged watched a Netflix series. So much that could be promoted on the website though... hair dryer and straighteners ( I never use, but know people who would be amazed by this!), coffee making machine, Netflix available, eco friendly cleaning and toiletries products, quality loo roll, dog bed and bowl (again we always bring our own, but would be good for others to know!). Recommendations for us in terms of eating out on Marazion - nothing to do with the accommodation - is that only the Godolphin and Kings Arms were open at this time of year, all booked up, so our first meal was a Domino's pizza :(
