What our customers say about their holidays
Tina - Verified booking
We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Lavender House.
The living space is fantastic and our party never felt we were on top of each other. The house is well appointed with lovely furnishings and very comfortable beds, we all slept like logs. Stunning views over the field towards Crantock and the beach in the distance. The beach is about a ten minute walk or longer if you decide to stop off at one of the local pubs on the way home. Both pubs serve great food, we do love C-Bay though (slightly longer walk but worth it, can be reached at low tide over the rocks) The hottub was excellent and one of the best we've had on holiday, we've never had one which kept it's temperature so well. Lucy the property manager was quick to respond when we had a small problem with the tub and it was able to be sorted over the phone. We had originally booked another property (Chi Gwyn) which the owner also owns, however after six months of booking poor reviews were appearing in relation to cleanliness issues. I asked Sykes to ask the owner to contact me which he did. Anthony kindly moved us to Lavender House and went to great lengths to explain that he had been having issues with the cleaning company and had taken steps to recruit another company and the issues on previous reviews were now rectified. We were certainly not disappointed and were pleased to find that as promised there were no issues with cleanliness. We wouldn't hesitate to return to Lavender House in the future or book Chi Gwyn which Lucy also manages. We will definitely be back!

The property itself is gorgeous, with all amenities required - Can't fault that.
Great location - apart from the main road is quite busy and the building works next door aren't ideal. Few negative comments - The cleanliness of the property was very below par and let it down - it was very very dusty and dirty around the edges... Minor things you would expect for price tag - washing up supplies any provided a jay cloth, washing liquid and 10 dishwasher tablets - sponges or washing up brushes and antibac spray would be of use. There were no black bin bags even though it asks you to put rubbish out in them, and only 2 part used toilet rolls for the whole house. Bunk bed room - When booking we were told that we could use all the beds in the bunk bed room - this was important to us and why we booked this property as we needed to use all the beds for the kids - but on arrival we were only provided bedding for the bottom bunks and when we called the office to rectify we were told we were not allowed to use the top bunks at all. Mixed info. Building works - Appreciated the refund but when agreeing to it we were told the building works would be inside only - they were working on the roof with hammers from 8am-4pm. The property was a shell and quite clearly external works were in progress not internal. Otherwise we loved it and what it offered!

The house layout was great, it accommodated 7 adults, 1 infant and small dog great.
There is lots of snagging and unsightly things - horrendous mould problem, damp walls, broken door handles, decking to the main door is slippery. The main feedback Iâd give the owner is - if youâre paying a cleaner/care taker, they are not doing what youâre paying for. The house was not clean/dusted. The floors dont seem to get mopped, our infant walked around for a matter of minutes on arrival and his hands and feet were black! There is thick dust everywhere, huge dusty cobwebs (been there some time!), mould - worst in the top right front bedroom. I have taken lots of photos for the owner. The inside of the oven and microwave were revolting - we couldnât use them it was disgusting. Even the cushions on the dining chairs were unclean. The house was so dusty it had 2 hayfever sufferers sneezing constantly - only in the house though, We found the fireplace surround and the fact the doors to the conservatory dont lock a hazard for our infant. Only sofa seats for 5 or 6 max when property sleeps up to 10. Meant 2 of us were on hard dining chairs every night. The beds were super comfy and decent bedding & towels provided. You could get passed the snagging but Cleanliness really lets this property down.

The Beach Halt is a newly finished property and therefore has a fantastic standard of décor and usability.
We stayed as a large group of 3 families including 5 children under 4 and the space and location could not have been better, we therefore had many highlights of our stay there. The ability to all sit comfortably in a clean and child friendly living area, have ample sleeping space and be able to walk to the beach with all the buggies made it a very convenient place to stay. The standard of décor made it a very comfortable place to stay and the owners really had thought of everything with additional items being provided for your use: we used the Bluetooth speaker, had a bbq one night and the box of toys for the kids was a great touch. Perranporth itself provides some lovely days out at the beach at the local cafes/restaurants which are all easily accessible via a buggy friendly 15 minute walk. Further afield we enjoyed days out at the National Maritime Museum - Falmouth, Lappa Valley Steam Railway, The Eden Project, Healeys Cyder Farm and the Seal Sanctuary all of which are within a 40-50 minute drive making the property a great base to explore some of the many attractions Cornwall has to offer. Thank you once again to the owners for providing this wonderful property, we certainly wouldn't hesitate to return!
