What our customers say about their holidays

We regularly stay around the Highlands and Highfield Lodge is definitely one of the best places we've stayed. The property is really well equipped, with a good heating system so even in mid winter it was very cosy. The combined living room and dining area is quite spacious. The upper floor has another sitting room space opening up onto a patio and back garden. For a small place it feels like you have lots of space. I enjoyed the huge bed upstairs and my daughter was very comfortable on the fold out bed downstairs. It's tucked into a quiet spot in the village, so although its surrounded by houses, it feels quite secluded and certainly very quiet. There is car parking at the front, and only a very short walk to shops, cafes and other village amenities. There are also some good walks from the property, or take a short drive into the surrounding mountains and lochs. For the price we paid, this was a super great deal. The owners live next door, so a minor issue we had got sorted out immediately. After that, everything was perfect. We even decided to stay for an extra night as we enjoyed it so much.

Outstanding holiday lodge in a fantastic location!
Great walks all around direct from the lodge . Views of loch with the Swans etc; Owls hooting at night from lodge and wild deer roaming close by made it for us! Never have we stayed in such an immaculately clean holiday let with every conceivable kitchen item required! Now for the owners observation! The beds are really uncomfortable, despite toppers being fitted. We found that the drier on the built in washer dryer did not work so will need attention or replacement! Also side veranda gate needs attention due to screws missing hinge didnât support it being opened . The week we were there were roadwork restrictions into Aberfeldy so had to head off into Pitlochry for shopping .Around a 40 mile round trip on the hair raising twisty hairpin bends, few passing places where we found very few keeping to a sensible speed in this situation! Would we recommend this lodge? Definitely! Would we stay again? Yes! If the beds were replaced with softer springs and memory foam top.

A beautiful home with every home comfort.
A lovely village with shops if you needed anything urgently. We ate in the wee pub along the road - very nice, really friendly place. Really great for accessing other local villages and lovely walks right from the doorstep. Loved all the seaside touches throughout the property. We were friends travelling separately and meeting up so parking was an issue in the very narrow street outside but we just used the car park down by the shore and walked up after we'd off loaded our bags. We didn't watch any TV but I think if you wanted to you'd have to log in to your own digital channels - we couldn't find anything you could watch. Maybe it was operator error!!?? A couple of dishwasher tablets would have been good, just to make life easier. We had already asked about robes for the hot tub so we took our own - might be worth mentioning they aren't included as it's a very short walk up the path to reach the hot tub area. Would love to go back.

It was very well maintained and clean.
Loved the remote control blinds in the kitchen. The heating system was different, but adequate to our needs. Not sure it would be enough for a really cold day, but I noticed there were radiators in the property and I assume they would be functional when required. The shower was good and the bed was very comfortable. The seating in the lounge let it down as the sofa in particular and the chair were not that comfortable. I sat on the sofa for the first evening and my back was very sore. So I sat in the harder chair. Maybe ok for younger people, but when in your sixties, itâs not good enough. Next door had a party on Friday evening and were loud, which is fair enough, itâs Friday. But we knew we wouldnât sleep enough before leaving on Saturday, so we left at 9.45pm. We will not consider having a holiday in an apartment again because of this experience as you are paying for a relaxing holiday.

This is a lovely wee place.
Accurately listed on Sykes. Comfortable beds, sofa, chairs etc and the garden is a lovely spot. Also, surprisingly private, considering it is a flat, it's easy to forget that. The kitchen is really well equipped, bread maker, slow cooker, baking stuff etc, I'd be surprised if anyone was short of something here. It's also really well done with electric blinds, induction hob etc, all really easy to use. The wifi is also easy to use and worked perfectly. The wee park out the front is ideal for 1st and last trips for the dog. Out the back, we had enough space to park and turn an estate and the wee local shop was ideal for small things. The welcome pack covers lots of things so we'll worth a read through. We didn't use the log burner, as it was mid-July, but this would be a lovely spot when it's on. All in all, this is a smashing place. We can't wait to go back. Top marks on upgrading it
