  Property is ideally located for shops, restaurants, 199 steps etc. On arrival we found that one of the small pains of glass in the front door had been boarded over with wood, right by the lock, this was not highlighted to us prior to arrival. The ‘quirky’ French door lock, as described in cottage file is not ‘quirky’ but ill fitted lock/doors. The property is very tired and dated, tub chairs are uncomfortable, so if 4 of you are staying in for the evening you’re better off sitting on the floor. This is an expensive property to rent, we realise now you are paying for the view and location. Cleanliness could be better, I found a bra top behind a bedroom unit and clump of hair on bedroom carpet on arrival. En suite bath/shower area very mouldy on grout and silicone…….not what you’d expect for £900+ per week. This property has been awarded a 3 star rating by Yorkshire cottages back in 2019, I don’t think it would receive the same accolade today.

  Apartment was absolutely lovely, very clean, comfortable, and great views of the sea from all rooms. I think it has been recently renovated and to a very high standard, lots of lovely white towels. Shower is over the bath. The bed is king size, and very comfortable. Lots of wardrobe and drawer space. Very large cream leather sofa and large tv. WiFi available without any problem. There is a thermostat in the hall to put heating on should you want to, we didn't as the weather was warm. Kitchen has a large fridge freezer, dishwasher and all other amenities, including tea towels and washing up liquid. A very nice touch too, of complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits, chocolates and wine, you just bring milk. I have already recommended this apartment to a friend. The building itself is in need of attention so don't be put off by that. There is a lift which we were pleased about. I hope to book it again next year.

  The property was absolutely lovely. Got back home yesterday and already miss looking out to the sea whilst in the living room or making a brew. Anything you could possibly need is supplied and a lovely welcome pack was waiting for us. The building itself is a little dated, but the facilties such as recycling bins and the lifts are great. Anyone with mobility problems would struggle to get down to the beach or to Whitby centre and back as the property is high up, but taxis are available (and dog friendly!). Our dog absolutely loved her little holiday and playing on the beach. We will definitely stay there again next time we come back to Whitby.

  We’ve just got back from a short break at the nook.

  It was absolutely perfect from start to finish. We received a lovely welcome from the owners. Upon entry in to the cottage we were left a very thoughtful welcome pack. The cottage is absolutely as the photos show, it’s a small one bed that is immaculately presented. The owners have thought of everything. It’s situated just outside of Glaisdale in a remote valley. Walks and cycle routes on the door step, but only 25 minutes into Whitby. The grounds are amazing and perfect if you have a dog, they can have a good run in the “paddock”. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break and will be sure to return!

  Just had a restful 4 day break at the Shepherds Hut.

  The hut had everything you could possibly need, beautiful soft towels, endless hot water, comfortable bed and a lovely cosy feel. Mike greeted us and made us feel welcome. The car was a little distance from the hut so he wisked our bags up to the hut on his quad. Lovely clear skies for star watching, great scenery with a fantastic Seaview... lots of places to visit locally, Robin Hoods Bay (get you hill climbing legs ready) Whitby and the Abbey to name a few. Don't forget the fish and chips and ice cream........ highly recommended...
