  This is a beautiful 3 bedroom Lodge .

  Very spacious for a family get together . I took my mum too and she loved it, Facilities provided are 5 star everything you need . The furnishings are Immaculate, it is cosy , warm even for a winter break . The lodge is situated 2nd row back from the lake . The lake can be seen from the lounge and dining windows Easy access to entrance and exit of the Leisure village . There is a charge for the use of swimming pool Gym , leisure facilities . I thought was a little expensive for a swim only . The bar and restaurant on site is lovely beautiful lake view . Excellent local places to eat are a short drive away . We enjoyed The Longlands restaurant and The Royal , Bolton Le sands only 5-10 minute drive . Even shorter drive to Booths Aldi and Tesco . No supermarket on site . Key safe is easy to use . We had a problem with the Front door sticking . I rang Sykes and a Maintenance man arrived within the hour to fix it . Very Happy with our stay , we enjoyed 3 nights and will definitely recommend .   Exceptionally Clean, having stayed in a number of Sykes properties we were very impressed with the standard of cleanliness at Crooklands.

  We were greeted by a dome of tasty cakes, which were a wonderful treat for a few days. A beautiful large house, we kept going WOW as we walked around and losing each other. Everything was to a very high standard with lovely fluffy luxurious towels. We made use of every room including the games room, enjoying family meals round the large table. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed preparing meals as a large three generation family. There was salt and pepper, a few coffee pods, instant coffee sachets and tea bags but no milk, so remember to take some for that first cuppa. The Texaco garage is close by and has a shop. The hot tub was private and checked everyday. The garden provided a lovely outdoor space for our four children and dog to play, all very safe and secure. We had been cautious about the hotel car park but it was quiet and we were never disturbed by any noise. Well located for access to so many activities and The Lakes. Would highly recommend.

  Our first week at 3 Tindale Terrace was good - anyone needing a quiet place to stay with interesting topography and walks on the doorstep need look no further!

  The only downside was the weather on 2 or 3 days - rain and strong winds! However, this was October and the terrace is located on high ground. So, changeable weather was not unexpected! Hallbankgate and Brampton are a few minutes drive away, so groceries are not a problem (or pubs if you enjoy a drink). The accommodation was fine, but we would have welcomed curtains or a blind in the downstairs toilet. I tried to explore the back garden, but found it to be much longer than anticipated and could not reach its end! The owner has a very interesting collection of books and guides/maps for exploring the wider area and there is plenty to see and experience around Tindale, Brampton and area. I would certainly recommend 3, Tindale Terrace for a small family or a couple looking for something quiet and a little different! I wish I had had more time in which to do some walking in the area, but couldn't fit it in this time.

  We had a fantastic stay at Crooklands Cottage over New Year.

  There were 10 of us (6 adults and 4 children aged 8-15) and the cottage had everything we could possibly need. The kids loved the games room and hot tub and the open plan ground floor meant that we were all together but with plenty of space. We spent most of our time in the Cottage relaxing however we had lunch in the hotel restaurant before checking in. The food, service and atmosphere were all fantastic. Outwith that, we went for a lovely dog walk along the canal next to the cottage and took the 15min drive into Kendal one afternoon. We scheduled a Tesco order to be delivered to us on arrival and did all of our own cooking. The kitchen had everything we needed and the large dining table meant that all 10 of us could eat together (even though there was another kitchen table that the kids liked to use for lunch). All in all, a brilliant stay and would definitely return. Highly recommend.

  Fabulous “cottage”, it’s huge!

  We were a party of 9 adults and a child plus a dog. Enclosed gated garden and hot tub area also gated, so secure. So much living space, you are never on top of each other. Cottage is well appointed, very clean and well maintained. Lovely decor. Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. Pool table room with PlayStation and nice sofas a massive hit, so lovely being able to be together either playing pool/console or just sitting relaxing. Hot tub a good size and had lots of use, again lovely addition. Only thing I would have liked more of is cutlery, maybe another set adding to the drawer, as when you have 10 people eating/serving food, you tend to use a lot of it. We ate at The Crooklands pub, which was lovely too. Dog friendly in the bar area. All in all, a fabulous weekend had by all and would love to return, recommend for a large party. Thank you
