For a truly unique experience, book a stay at Cherry Tree Lodge, a welcoming shepherd’s hut complete with a wood-fired hot tub. Barn Owl also offers the luxury of a hot tub, perfect for relaxing under the stars after a day of exploration.
Guests can enjoy scenic strolls around the charming lake or explore nearby attractions, such as the tranquil Shady Lane Arboretum. Evenings are best spent around the communal outdoor fire pit, sharing stories and creating memories beneath a starlit sky.

We chose to stay here while we were child free so that we weren't to far from the children. We didn't expect much, just some time away, but it was beautiful. The pod was so well laid out, comfortable and had everything we'd need: kettle, toaster, utensils, etc. The only thing we could've done with was a frying pan. The bathroom was beautiful and spacious and had some fancy taps. We got to use the wood fired hot tub which had been pre lit for our arrival. Sitting under the stars with a glass of wine in the evenings really added to the trip. We explored the area a bit, went for a walk around the lake, did some pottery painting and enjoyed a pub dinner. All in all it was a perfect trip away and I would thoroughly recommend it for anyone thinking of booking. The staff were friendly, the owners were great to chat to, and the sheep provided cuddles and entertainment. 10/10!

We had a really lovely 1 night stay in the Highland pod at the Cow & Plough. The bed was unbelievably comfy and the pod was well designed, cosy and warm with quite a lot of room for two. It had all the things we'd need for a short stay – only needing our toiletries and food. We found the shower pressure wasn't great but manageable. The large shelf over the bed is handy but also hard to work around. A much smaller one would be better. The location is quiet and rural and we had a reminder to bring our boots for walking the track to the pub. So handy to wander back past the pigs by touch light at the end of the evening.We would have liked a little milk in the fridge for a cuppa when we arrived. The pub kindly gave us some. Great stay in all and we would love to return.
