Boasting a wonderful history dating back to the mid-1700s as a former millworkers cottage, and beautiful views overlooking the River Soar, Periwinkle Cottage is a delightful pet-friendly holiday home for a couple or family of three, plus their two canine companions. Step into the well-equipped kitchen, featuring a handy dishwasher and washer/dryer, where you can conjure up a delicious feast for your loved ones, ready to savour at the dining table for three. On warmer days, why not fire up the barbecue in the rear enclosed garden and dine alfresco, as your four-legged friends stretch their legs? After dinner, retire to the sitting room, with underfloor heating, where you can snuggle up on the plush seating and select a much-loved show from the Smart TV, as your pooches curl up in front of the crackling woodburning stove. Climb the stairs up to the first floor where you can indulge in a soothing soak in the bath or freshen up with a shower in the Jack-and-Jill bathroom. Barrow upon Soar is recognised for its fine limestone and pleasant setting along the River Soar, while the surrounding districts offer many additional scenic spots for guests as well as convenient access to Leicester and Coventry. Loughborough, which is less than five miles from the village, is noted for its university campus, the Charnwood Museum, and the picturesque Queen's Park, as well as other facilities including the UK's only main line historic railway, the Great Central Railway.
