Guests say

Swallows Barn is a charming, well-equipped cottage in a beautiful rural setting, ideal for walkers and those seeking peace and quiet. Guests consistently praise its immaculate cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and excellent kitchen facilities. The location offers stunning countryside views and direct access to scenic walks. The owner is frequently described as welcoming and helpful. While the lack of Wi-Fi and limited phone signal are noted, many guests found this added to the sense of escape. Occasional minor maintenance issues and comfort preferences were mentioned, but overall, the cottage provides a delightful and restful retreat.

The vast majority of reviews highlight the cottage as spotlessly clean and well maintained, with only rare mentions of minor carpet stains. Guests consistently describe the property as immaculate upon arrival.

The rural location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and proximity to excellent walking routes and local attractions. The setting next to a working farm is appreciated by most guests, though a few note early morning activity.

Most guests found the cottage warm, cosy, and comfortable, with particular praise for the bed and spaciousness. A few mentioned the sofa or mattress as too soft for their preference, but these were exceptions.

The cottage is described as very well equipped, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. The lack of Wi-Fi and limited TV channels are noted, but many guests saw this as a positive. Occasional suggestions for minor improvements (e.g., garden furniture, games, or a cheese grater) were made.

Many guests mention a warm welcome from the owner and thoughtful touches such as milk, tea, coffee, and biscuits on arrival. While these gestures are appreciated, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

People should be aware that it is near a working farm and early morning milking, this did not bother us.

A delightful, detached and quiet holiday let at the end of a dry stone walled lane. Very well equipped for two adults and, a huge plus, is the two separate bathrooms. A lovely little , compact holiday let in a beautiful area with outstanding countryside, villages ,towns and places of interest.
