The cottage is in a beautiful spot with breathtaking views. A warm and cosy cottage with a log burner and filled with everything you could need for a break in the Lake District no matter what the weather. The host greeted us just after we arrived and was extremely helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. It is advisable to take food staples with you as local shops and pubs are not that close. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would return again in a heartbeat.

The location is quite remote but without feeling isolated and the cottage is well equipped (dishwasher would have been a bonus but it was clear from the description there wasn't one so it wasn't an issue and the view from the kitchen window is breath taking). The views from the property are breathtaking! Whether from the sitting room or the outside space. Plenty of walks directly from the cottage too. Very quiet location which is what we wanted. One evening a heron flew over our heads. The cottage is accessable via a single car road with passing points from the nearest village, it's manageable but took some getting used to. Nearest shop is in the village nearby, in addition to some very nice cafes serving great food. Also there's a very limited phone reception (good internet though) which would have been useful to know beforehand. The owner is lovely and made us feel very welcome on our arrival, explaining everything. We didn't need any assistance during our stay.We are already counting down the days until we can return!
