The cottage is in a great location, about 10 mins walk from the station. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and there’s a cupboard of games, books, and dvds. Two of the bedrooms have sinks in them which was great.It’s v warm and the electric fire in the living room is v effective. The garden is lovely although we didn’t have the right weather for it, otherwise we would have been out there a lot.Although it’s close to the road you don’t hear it, the windows really shut out the noise.Useful things to know (when we were there)… there was washing up liquid, tea towel, hand towel and j-cloth, but also a dishwasher with some tablets. Also a cafetière, salt and pepper.Great walks straight from the cottage or a bus stop a few minutes away to take you to Ambleside and Grasmere. The decor is a bit dated but that’s all. I’d definitely stay there again and recommend it.

A good sized property with everything provided for a comfortable and pleasant stay. The outside area at the rear is a nice place to relax after a days sightseeing, although due to the proximity of the road, subject to quite a bit of traffic noise. That said, the location is such that there are many places to visit, (plus activities) virtually on the doorstep or within a few miles, so always something to do and see and a wide choice of eateries providing something for everyone's taste. A good choice.
