There is also the opportunity for fishing on-site. This delightful cottage with its ‘upside down’ design, sundeck and first floor balcony overlooking tranquil marshland, is one of a row of six set a few yards from the mooring basin and the local River Ant. Footpaths offer leisurely waterside strolls and Sutton’s village green is perfect for fishing and picnicking. If you don’t want to cook, there is a local restaurant and pub just a stroll away.
Situated within an easy drive of the Norfolk Broads and Norfolk’s coastline, the property stands in the small hamlet of Sutton Staithe, a conservation area offering a relaxing waterside holiday location next door to the boatyard, with boating activity all around. On your doorstep, there is day launch and river fishing (Bream, Perch, Roach, Rudd, Pike etc) is available in season. Also available are canoe and boat rentals.
The Norfolk Broads Museum is a few minutes’ drive away, where you can discover the history of The Broads and associated boating. Wroxham, known as the ’capital of the Broads’, is only 9 miles away. Closer to home is the seaside resort of Sea Palling, 4 miles, or for quieter sandy beaches, take a trip to Waxham and Horsey. The city of Norwich makes for a great day out, with its cathedral, theatre, castle museum, excellent shopping, restaurants and cafés. Enjoy a day at the seaside resort of Great Yarmouth, only 16 miles away. The Weavers Way runs through the town and provides good walking and cycling opportunities. The market town of Stalham is 1½ miles away and provides a host of amenities including a supermarket, shops, pubs and restaurants. Beach 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 80 yards.

My husband & I (& dog) spend many weeks per year in Norfolk, one of our very favourite destinations in the UK.The Wanderer is in an idyllic location with great facilities locally, The Broads, restaurants, farm shops & supermarkets.The property itself is uniquely set out with the bed & bath downstairs with the kitchen, dining & living area on the 2nd floor. A patio with great views over the Broads is also on both levels.It is a very tranquil environment & the level of equipment is superb inside the property.We would have no hesitation in rebooking HOWEVER with one reservation, THE INTERNET. It never worked & we need it for business etc so we need assurance this will get up dated for next season

Property very well equipped. The downsides were the wi fi / internet was non existent even though we tried rebooting every day. Talking to the local people it is a real problem in thatarea. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable.. Being so close to the main road the traffic noise was continuous until late evening and the started again early morning.

Great location.The cottage in general was lovely, comfortable and had all that was needed.In some parts it lacked a bit of TLC ie the garden needed weeding and looking more presentable. In the bathroom the toilet pull light switch had an awful piece of plastic extending the rope bit that had broken. Not an expensive repair so could not understand why it wasn’t done properly. There were some drip stains on the paint work in the bathroom that had not been wiped up. The shower curtain! Awful un hygienic things !! Update it and get a shower screen. It was a little dated downstairs . Upstairs in the open kitchen dining and living area wasn’t too bad except for horrible plastic flowers.However, this didn’t deter us from having a great time in wonderful Norfolk. We spent most of our time in our sons hired cottage which was in comparable.All modern and fresh and similar price. Despite all those little things we would return to the Wanderers. Lovely towels, complementary goodies, comfy bed and furniture.Just needed that injection of more modern elements and more TLC.
