The Metro Centre, Beamish and Lake District are an hour away. Visit interesting Leyburn village and The Forbidden Corner near Middleham. Fishing, golf and riding locally. Pub and cafe 2 miles.

The Old Chapel is a beautiful cottage in stunning Baldersdale. If you crave a degree of solitude but want to be close enough to the modern world for when you need facilities it is perfectly located. The surrounding wildlife and countryside is sensational with plenty of walks nearby and from the door. The cottage was warm and cosy and had everything we needed for our week there. The lovely owner met us on arrival, told us a bit about the history of the house and a famous local resident who had visited, which helped bring it to life. A wonderful experience.

Great wee find and not far from Barnard Castle. Lovely accommodation and great location for a relaxing week away. Janice was lovely and very helpful. Romaldkirk was a lovely medieval village with a great Pub with great food. Would definitely recommend and return.
