Guests say

Cheshire View is a well-received cottage in Buxton, praised for its immaculate condition, modern amenities, and beautiful location. Guests enjoyed the sociable kitchen, hot tub, and thoughtful touches like welcome drinks. While most reviews are positive, a few mentioned minor maintenance issues and comfort improvements.

The property consistently receives high marks for cleanliness, with guests describing it as immaculate, sparkling clean, and tidy. One review mentioned a film on the hot tub water, but this seems to be an isolated incident.

The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, countryside views, and proximity to local attractions and walks. It is described as convenient and ideal for exploring the Peak District.

Overall, guests find the property comfortable, with a cosy lounge and well-equipped rooms. However, there are comments about the beds' comfort and the living room size for larger groups, which slightly lowers the score.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the hot tub and kitchen. Some maintenance issues like a door handle problem and hot tub concerns have been raised, indicating room for improvement.

Guests have mentioned welcome gifts such as wine and cards, which indicate thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not guaranteed and not all reviews mention them, it is not possible to accurately score this category.

About this property

Perched on the outskirts of Buxton, Derbyshire, lies this fabulous, three-storey holiday home, Cheshire View. With access to a private hot tub and enclosed garden, and great positioning to nearby attractions, this contemporary property is perfect for large families and makes a wonderful base for exploring Buxton and the surrounding Peak District National Park. Inside, be charmed by the tastefully-decorated, contemporary interior, the quality of which is on full display in the well-appointed, amply-equipped kitchen/diner, where a huge dining island takes centre stage, serving as the social hub of the house where the whole group can prepare and enjoy tasty meals whilst catching up on the day's events.

If you'd prefer an alfresco affair, set the patio furniture and make use of your outdoor space, before enjoying an indulgent soak in the hot tub. When the evening grows darker, retreat to one of four well-presented bedrooms, one of which features a plush king-size bed and accompanying en-suite shower room, the perfect spot to relax and rejuvenate as the night draws to a close. If you fancy getting to know the local area, make the short trip to the nearby Old Club House for a pint, or perhaps book a table at The Tasting Rooms if a break from cooking is required one evening.

On your way out of Buxton, be sure to spend time at the Chee Dale riverside trail on your journey to the village of Tideswell, where you can refill your energy stores at The Merchant's Yard once you're finished hiking. For those history enthusiasts of the group, the market town of Bakewell is a worthwhile destination, home to the landmark spot of Bakewell Bridge, as well as the surrounding Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House. Further afield is Matlock, where you can spend a whole day enjoying attractions such as Lumsdale Waterfall, the Peak District Mining Museum, and the Heights of Abraham cable car cavern tours.

All of this and more awaits during a stay at Cheshire View.

The eight thermal springs in Buxton have a constant temperature of 28 degrees centigrade, which is what first drew the Romans to the area. The beautiful semicircular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens, and The Opera House were all conceived and constructed during the 18th and 19th centuries, though, under the patronage of succeeding Dukes of Devonshire. These spectacular structures and grounds, as well as the Opera House's full schedule and yearly festivals of music and the arts, are still enjoyed by visitors today. With rocky peaks to the north and mild slopes and dales to the south, the area is well-suited for walking. Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton, and Edale are just a few of the charming towns and villages that can be found there. Visitors to this region must view the magnificent homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, both of which are accessible by car. excellent starting point for Peak District exploration.

Which meant we had to dig our car out, unfortunately the snow shovel provided handle broke. Which we carried on using the last day the shovel itself broke. The gutter came down with the weight of the snow but that’s wasn’t a problem. The property is lovely and spacious and had everything we need except a large frying pan. Would go back without the snow

Everything we needed for a family of 7. Only suggestion I would make is; we spent most of our time in kitchen as was bigger than living room, maybe a small TV in kitchen and TV in downstairs bedroom would be useful? Heating was a bit hard to fathom out, but once on, it was cosy. But we had a lovely weekend, hot tub was used frequently. Would recommend

We stayed for a weekend and had everything we needed. Half hour pleasant walk into Buxton although it’s slightly uphill coming back! Plenty of room for 6 of us. Nice views of the countryside. Hot tub was great. Would definitely stay again.
