We had a lovely stay at Riverview Cottage just after Christmas. The cottage was spotlessly clean, warm and so cosy to come back to after a days walking. It had all the equipment in the kitchen that you could possibly want or need. The beds were comfortable and all linen soft and fresh. WiFi was good. On site safe parking was available. We appreciated the welcome pack and contact with Wayne the owner.

Arriving for a 'different' quiet Christmas 2025.The cottage was overall lovely but the double bed's quilt was old and very lumpy in places and stuffing missing or lumped up so you had an area of nothing. The memory foam mattress had the typical two hollows either side which meant a large lump the length of the bed down the middle. The colour scheme in the lounge is somewhat different and needs addressing!Last negatives :- the roller blind in the bathroom with its safety chain gadget was not attached to the wall. The stepping into the bath to shower was rather scary (for us) as there was nothing to grab/hold on to.No shaver point in bathroom either. The WIFI is intermittent and signal almost non-existent :(On a very good note the kitchen is well equipped, the greeting gifts were a lovely surprise and Wayne was lovely. The rooms were all heated, clean and, I am sure the negatives will be dealt with straight away to keep this 'cottage' in the running for their next award in 2026.The Manifold Inn just a few steps away was welcoming with delightful food and wine.
