As you arrive at Tawny Barn you are greeted by the extensive views over the fields, which can be enjoyed from many rooms of the house.
Step inside to an open plan space, perfect for socialising with your family and friends; this space has a fully equipped kitchen, dining table with chairs to seat all guests and a comfortable living room with ample seating and smart TV. The ground floor is completed with a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room. On the first floor are three further bedrooms made up of a twin and two doubles, all boasting their own en-suites. Outside there is a garden area, parking for up to four cars and a secure bike store.
Tawny Barn is located on the outskirts of the village of Longnor which sits around 7 miles from the nearest town of Buxton, and just under 10 miles to the Staffordshire town of Leek. You can walk directly from your doorstep onto the Manifold Valley trail or into the village of Longnor which is just over 1 mile, where you will find a local shop and a good pub. Should you choose to visit the local towns, Buxton has a lot to offer with a fantastic park known as the Pavilion Gardens, The Opera House which has shows on weekly or its many places to eat and shop. There are further local walks to be enjoyed such as the High Peak Trail, Tissington Trail, Monsal Head or a walk across Dovedale’s famous stepping stones.
If you enjoy history then a visit to Chatsworth House is a must, just under 15 miles from the property, Chatsworth House is a magnificent stately home which you can walk through, enjoy the gardens, or if you have children with you, the farm yard is great fun; call in at the farm shop before you head back home. If you are a thrill seeker, Tawny Barn lies just 16 miles away from Alton Towers Theme Park, open seasonally. There really is something for everyone at Tawny Barn, where you can make unforgettable memories.

We absolutely loved our stay from start to finish. The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating upon our arrival and throughout our stay. The barn was wonderfully renovated and had everything we needed and wanted. The rooms were spacious and clean, the beds were so comfortable and the en-suites were such a great bonus. The bed was actually the most comfortable I think I’ve ever stayed in. The underfloor heating meant that even in the winter, whilst it was snowing, we were always warm and toasty. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, plates, cutlery etc and the oven worked well - we made a few meals while we were there as takeaways were not readily available! This was fine though as there were shops not too far away. There is also a very good smart tv which we appreciated - we could use it to play “outsmarted” as a family in the living room area. We could also use it to watch Netflix which meant the kids were happy!The views around the barn were stunning and we loved the fact that we could turn right and walk across the fields to the local village (and pub!) or right along a public footpath for lovely walks. The barn is just a drive away from many places to visit - we went to Buxton, Bakewell and chatsworth house but there were many other places to go so would be great to return to see more of the surrounding area! Thank you for a wonderful stay, we would absolutely love to return in the future, maybe in a warmer season to try some of the lovely walks nearby!

We visited Tawny Barn over Xmas for 3 nights. The barn itself is gorgeous and the rooms and facilities were perfect for our family group, with each bedroom having its own bathroom. It has a nice big oven and comes very well equipped. The location is beautiful, If you want to get away from it all, this is the perfect accommodation! The walk to the local village is across fields. We had a lovely Christmas Day walk to the local pub, where the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hosts were very friendly. We didn’t need to contact them for anything while we were there but we felt confident they would be available and ready to help if we needed anything. Thank you for a lovely stay.
