About this property

An attractive bungalow attached to another holiday property which sits at the rear of this cottage, on a quiet residential road in Cornwall's attractive Gorran Haven. This lovely cottage in Cornwall is just a ten minutes' walk from the centre of the village, which is a real delight of the stunning Roseland Peninsula, with its beautiful beach. Ideal for couples or families looking to enjoy a break near the beach or exploring the stunning South West Coast Path, the cottage is certain to appeal all year round. There is a kitchen and a separate living room with a dining area, a large Plasma TV offering Sky sports, movies, and children's channels, and a sofa bed. There is also two comfortable bedrooms and a bathroom with both a bathtub and a separate shower cubicle, meaning the property may be suitable for less mobile guests. Outside is a shared front garden with a private sitting area, and within easy walking distance is the centre of the village with its two pubs, local shops and small, pretty beach where you can enjoy a quick evening stroll before tucking into the traditional seaside fare of fish and chips. An easy five minute walk from the cottage, let the kids tear around the children's playground or have a kick about on the football pitch. There are also tennis courts that you can set up family tournaments on, on sunny afternoons! Close to Gorran Haven are the secluded sandy beaches of Vault and Hemmick, and of course, the pretty harbour village of Mevagissey where it is a joy to simply sit and gaze at the fishing boats and the picturesque, colourful cottages lining the cliffside. There are many attractions to keep you amused, including the Eden Project, the beautiful Lost Gardens of Heligan, or why not take a ferry from St Mawes to Fowey, with its charming winding streets hiding unusual shops and restaurants? A quietly-placed cottage, close to the spectacular coastline of the Roseland Peninsula, with plenty of pretty beaches and interesting attractions to discover nearby.

Once a crab fishing village, Gorran Haven on the south coast of Cornwall is ideally placed to explore the many beaches and coves in the area. Gorran Haven has a small sandy beach, connecting with the longer Great Perhaver beach at low tide. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust, including the 370 feet high Dodman Point, rising above Gorran, which is thought to be one of Cornwall’s most dramatic headlands, and the cause of many a shipwreck.

On arrival bitterly disappointed to find a scruffy garden in which the 'private seating area' consisted of a very old unkempt picnic table on an uneven lawn.We didnt realise the property was attached to the owners residence and that 'the view' would be obscured by a large van and a small car covered in advertising. The bungalow itself was spacious and adequately equipped, clean and tidy although the settee in the lounge was extremely uncomfortable. The owners and family were lovely and helpful but the biggest issue was that the heating was controlled by the owner using a Hive system which often left us cold (unseasonal weather)and, inspite of the owner turning the heat up to 24c the heat often did not come on.When it did it was very efficient.I realise reviews are subjective but this property is in no way outstanding and is in need of an upgrade to reach this level.

The hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and the cottage suited our needs perfectly. Even the unusually wet weather could not dampen our enjoyment!

It's situated in a lovely private road and within a 5 minute walk to a lovely beach. The cottage is spacious with a lovely garden and drive. The hosts Helen and Steve could not be more helpful. We will be back !!
