The Carnon Downs Caravan and Motorhome site is the ideal base to explore the beauty of Cornwall. Just 3 miles from the city of Truro and set in 20 acres of landscaped grounds. Wonderful walks can be enjoyed on the site.. 4 steps to entrance.

The Lodge is one of three lodges on this site situated close to the reception area with parking next to the lodge. The park has 20 acres of landscaped gardens to explore, a children’s play area, laundry facilities and a café/wine bar at reception. You can walk from the site to the River Fal and the creek and the hamlets of Penpol and Devoran. Bring your bikes and follow the Bissoe Trail or do the Camel Trail (Padstow-Wadebridge) you can also hire equipment from here. Why not spend a day shopping in the beautiful city of Truro, meander along the cobbled streets looking at the variety of shops, plenty of places for refreshment and a place to stop. If you want a unique experience visit the Eden project at St Austell 22 miles away. The clay pits have been reclaimed to house enormous biomes a truly education experience for the whole family. If you appreciate beauty you will be spoilt for choice with the the gardens at Trebah, Glendurgan and Heligan. There are an abundance of coves and beaches to explore with water sports facilities at Praa Sands, Loe Beach in Truro equipment and tuition available. If you are an adrenalin junky visit the Adrenalin Quarry with a wide selection of activities to choose. If you prefer a quieter pace of life travel to the picturesque Falmouth 8 miles away, pop into the Maritime Museum and enjoy the wide selection of food available in the restaurants. Helston home to the largest Land Airbase is 16 miles away a market town home of the Furry Dance full of character.

Arrived early and still managed to be able to get the key to the lodge which was great when the car was loaded and couldn’t get any shopping in. I was pleasantly surprised at the accommodation clean, spacious lodge, it was also very quiet lovely spot and the dog could roam in a secure garden. We had the four bedroom one and if I was being critical I would rather have a large freezer and fridge instead of a dish washer if we had brought the whole family. Our son daughter in law had the two bedroom lodge and that had a bigger fridge and freezer. As we only cooked a few meals in the lodge it didn’t really affect us. The location was great and central to beaches towns etc. Aldi Tesco not too far away in Truro. All in all a great break away and would recommend it to anyone in fact would go there again if going to Cornwall.

The lodge was perfect size and very comfortable, location was fantastic and the site was lovely and so were the staff. We could have done with a few more utensils in the kitchen like a potato masher and maybe wooden spoons.Cleanliness was ok lots of cobwebs and lots of dog hair but it didnt spoil the holiday.

Our only criticism would be the fitted sheets. They are too small for the bed.The office staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I would like you to tell them how much we appreciated all they did for us.
