Croyde Farm Cottage has the perfect mix of authentic barn conversion and the home comforts we are all accustomed to. The ground floor is made up of two rooms, one being the open plan kitchen with center dining table, comfy sofas and bifold doors which open right out onto the patio to give you that outside living experience. The cosy snug area has a wood burner and two sturdy leather armchairs, with foot stools, off this room is a utility cupboard housing a ground floor WC, washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs are three bedrooms and a family bathroom, the master kingsize room has a modern fully tiled shower room and patio doors which open up onto a raised terrace area with bistro set, steps lead down to the patioed garden area.
Croyde is a popular holiday destination, with it's sandy dune backed surfing beach and excellant pubs and restuarants which are only a short stroll away. Being just outside the main village area the property will be the perfect place to unwind and take in the beautiful views of green fields at the rear of the property. The South West Coast path is within easy walking distance and the views around to baggy point really are breathtaking!

Everything about the cottage was perfect. My only feedback was we experience problems on one evening with the key box which we used to store the key. The code appeared to have been changed, but after calling the both contact numbers (owner and cleaner) the cleaner let us know it often jams and needs “hitting” to free the mechanism. We eventually managed to do this. We didn’t receive a call back from anyone to ensure we had successfully got back in.

The house was lovely and the location fabulous. However we felt very overlooked by the main house - it really lacked privacy, both inside the house and in the garden. The garden furniture was fabulous but the garden really really needs an outside shower or at the very least, a garden tap so that you can wash off sandy feet and wetsuits. A real must for a beach rental. The bedrooms were lovely and the beds very comfy. Our en-suite shower was blocked and we informed the host - we explained it was not a problem and we would just use the other shower but we wanted to give them the heads up to get it sorted out before the next guests arrived. We were then very surprised and somewhat unhappy to find out that someone had gone into the house while we were out to fix it - without our permission. Not sure if this is permitted?? The kitchen was lovely and well equipped. The bathroom towels were small and cheap which was a bit annoying given the cost of the rental. It’s these little things that make a difference. We have been to Croyde many times before and absolutely love it there - we will be back, but not to this house.

It would have been helpful to have instruction booklets for the oven and hob. In addition despite being advised on the website that a Welcome Pack would be provided, none was evident.
