We found Gill Bay nearly perfect. Loved the view. Was as pictured. It had just about everything we needed. A wooden spoon would be useful and a non glass chopping board. Everything else required was provided. It also would have been nice to know that this was right at the far end of the Southerness site. The maps don't show where properties are correctly. We certainly got our steps in as it took 20-25 minutes to walk off site. The only blight was running out of gas on our last day at around 8am. It took until after 2pm for a replacement bottle. This meant the boiler would not work once we had gas as it then had an error message. We had to call again to get someone out to fix it. This really should never happen. However we did not let it spoil our break. The sofas were comfortable, as was the bed. My husband really liked the cooker. I do think the table is to big for the space as it makes getting in the fridge difficult. Not sure what the welcome package is. We got a cleaning pack, 1 packet of 2 oat biscuits and various sachets of tea, coffees, milk etc.. If that's what it is that's fine. We would stay in Southerness again as everyone is friendly. 19th hole is the best venue to relax with great music and food was great for the price. We were sad that the little shop was shut as we'd looked forward to shopping there. Had lovely coffee, ice cream. Some great local pies. And scottish tablet which we love. Highly recommend it. Staff were all lovely last yyear.My only other comment is Bonnie Escapes you really need to review and update the information you send customers. So much is incorrect and it's very frustrating. Gillian was really nice and helpful however.
