We had a lovely stay here at Hen Llaeth with our border terrier. A lovely warm welcome on arrival and a welcome pack too. The setting is amazing. The holiday home is a little gem. Lovely and clean and very homely with an enclosed back garden. Out the back gate is a small wooded area and field which is ideal for taking the dog first and last walk. To the left side of the garden we could see the alpacas, donkeys shetland ponies and sheep in the fields. If you love nature and a tranquil retreat this is the place for you. The coast is a short distance by car and we saw the harbour porpoises in New Quay bay. We took a picnic lunch out both days and called at lots of different coastal places many to choose from. We are hoping to return soon.

This is the 4th time we've stayed at one or the other cottages on site. Tim and Mandy are lovely people and great hosts. The grounds have an enclosed meadow which is perfect to let dogs run around. The accommodation is nothing fancy and the nearest shop is a few miles away. But, its just a lovely "home-from-home". Drivers will need to bear in mind that Welsh "A" roads can be challenging, and would probably only be classed as "B" roads over the border. But if you don't mind the drive there are some great beaches to enjoy, and some lovely little towns and villages. We will certainly return for a 5th stay. As an extra bonus, the thick walls of the cottages provide good insulation from the recent heatwave conditions😀

Lovely location unfortunately the cottage needs some TLC. Photos need updating Garden area looks unkempt fence could do with a lick of paint. Bathroom is outdated and looks grubby shower cubicle needs updating shower needs to be replaced. Towels once used felt damp if kept in the bathroom we had to hang them in the garden to get them dry! Cottage its self was smaller that expected but did the job for the week. Would not recommend if you have a big dog as space is at a premium luckily we don’t! We were greeted by Tim the owner who was very nice and we the cottage nice little welcome hamper with tea coffee cakes and eggs. We booked this cottage because it was on offer had we’d paid full price we would have been disappointed. Overall this footage did the the job but we wouldn’t return.
