This semi-detached, period holiday cottage is a haven of peace and tranquillity, set in 6 acres of private woodlands and is just a stone’s throw away from the town of Newcastle Emlyn, famous for its 13th-century castle and traditional Welsh pubs and restaurants. Explore the Brecon Beacons National Park and other attractions including Dynevor and Dryslwyn and the National Botanic Gardens of Wales. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

I and my two little dogs absolutely loved our stay in Ivy Cottage. We were lucky with the weather with 5 out of 8 days (including travel) warm and sunny - start of Spring I think! Playing in the quite fast running stream in the gardens was magical and taught the young one how to be safe around water, which I was unsure about before and always kept him on a lead. It was fun watching him dipping his paw in to check the depth and then the shock when he realised how deep it was... lesson learnt!The lake and surrounding woodland is beautiful and I'd love to come back and see the different seasons. The cottage itself is small and well laid out with everything you could possibly need including an easy to use heating system with radiators you can turn on and off at will...perfect. Also, a washing machine was a real bonus and the fridge freezer is a perfect size for people who need to bring frozen food with them - you can't go food shopping when on your own with dogs!I would just add that a trip to Aberporth beach was thoroughly enjoyable, with the tide right out and lots of room for two exuberant dogs to play in the sea!Overall, a really fun and relaxing stay.

An amazing and tranquil place to stay. Ivy Cottage has all the amenities you could need and is exceptionally clean, welcoming, and comfortable.Penny and Steve are excellent hosts – nothing is ever too much trouble for them, and they go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.The grounds surrounding the cottage are breathtaking, with beautiful natural scenery everywhere you look. The stream that runs through the six acres of land adds to the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.It’s everything you could want for a week away. The cottage is also conveniently close to local beaches, a charming village, and local shops and amenities.Highly recommended.

Had a lovely relaxing time with our 2 boys Henry cockapoo and cooper boxer. Never seen them so relaxed. I would recommend ivy cottage to anyone who are just looking for a relaxing times. Loved every minute of it. Penny was a lovely host 😊
