This is your chance to experience living in a traditional, restored Welsh vernacular cottage with its many luxury enhancements and more. Nyth Fach aptly means 'little nest' in Welsh and what a welcoming nest it is. The whitewashed exterior hides a deceptively spacious interior and as you push open the blue front door, you may well be impressed, as not only do you step back in time, you do so with style, character and quality.

The cottage interior has lime mortared walls and a traditional Crog loft which has been painstakingly restored to give a real feel of what an 18th-century Welsh cottage would have been like.

The owners have transformed the cottage adding many luxury touches including underfloor heating, two log burners, jacuzzi shower, fitted kitchen and of course WiFi to bring the old cottage gently and sympathetically into the 21st century.

Outside is a small private terrace where you can enjoy a glass of wine or some meals at your bistro table and soak up the setting sun with coastal views of Cardigan Bay. Once the sun goes down, retreat indoors for a lazy evening when throwing another log on the fire sounds like a good plan.

The Kingsized bedroom on the first floor is open plan to the downstairs, so you can lie in bed with the light and crackle of glowing embers burning brightly as a fire starts to fade.

The cottage forms one of a small peaceful cluster of farm buildings and holiday homes within walking distance of the West Wales coast and well away from any public roads. The nearby Victorian farmhouse is a boutique bed and breakfast, so if you'd like a fabulous breakfast on one or more of your mornings, you can pre-arrange this with the owners.

Llanfrain still retains 16 acres of farming land, which are grazed by alpacas and sheep. There are lakes and picturesque fields to explore. Animal lovers will be thrilled to find various friendly animals roaming the fields including sheep, goats, alpacas, two long-legged Rheas, a beautiful black and white cat and a couple of pretty lively donkeys. Feel free to get up close and say hello if you wish.

Nyth Fach is the perfect home from home for two people seeking a short break on the wonderful West Wales Heritage Coast, where you can walk, beachcomb, discover wildlife and historical sites, or just stay at home and read a book by the fire. All year round, this is a certain winner.

Accommodation

Nyth Fach sleeps a maximum of 2 in a king-sized bedroom.

The ground floor has a spacious lounge with a fabulous feature fireplace with a large wood burner forming the main architectural feature of the room. Welsh slate floors, cast iron radiators, thick rugs, and a super comfy leather sofa with soft blankets and cushions to sink into after a day out and about. A lovely handwoven Melin Tregwynt tapestry blanket in reds and oranges hangs on the whitewashed wall beneath a giant wrought iron chandelier suspended from the high A-frame ceiling.

The flat-screen Smart TV allows you to catch up on the latest Netflix releases should the weather turn wet, as it sometimes does in Wales. There will be plenty to keep you occupied by the fires on shorter days.

Dining room on the ground floor with log burner, an antique dining table and an antique oak settle containing a selection of books, games and puzzles.

Extremely well-equipped galley kitchen with underfloor heating, Belfast sink, granite worktops, combination oven, induction hob, fridge and dishwasher. Fresh milk, tea, Welsh ground coffee, sugar and freshly homemade Bara Brith provided and awaiting your arrival. The back door with a large picture window leads to the small terraced garden with views of the sea beyond, catching the late afternoon and evening sun.

Up the eye-catching staircase, you'll reach the Crog Loft bedroom, where there is a king-sized bed with luxurious linens, throws and sheepskin rugs, retro bedside cabinets and ambient bedside lighting, artworks on the walls, and exposed beams.

The spacious bathroom on the ground floor has a big walk-in jacuzzi style shower, twin washbasin, a toilet and a heated towel radiator. There is a large picture mirror and views of the sea through the Venetian blinds. Soft white bathroom towels included as standard. Please bring beach towels.

Both the bathroom and kitchen have underfloor heating while the rest of Nyth Fach is centrally heated with cast iron radiators.

Whether you are remote working or just browsing the internet, there is a good internet WiFi connection in the cottage.

Communal laundry room nearby with a washing machine and tumble drier (coin-operated payment).

Outside on the private terrace, you'll find a gas barbecue and bistro table and chairs for relaxing meals, morning coffee or evening drinks.

Various interesting animals roam the fields of Llainfran Fach including sheep, goats, alpacas, two rheas and a couple of donkeys. You can choose to get up close and say hello if you wish!
