Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. If you are looking for a romantic break away then Tulip is perfect for this, a beautiful shepherd’s hut with a private hot tub and enclosed garden. Tulip is in St Harmon, a short drive from the market town of Rhayader, ideal for those looking to explore this fabulous area. Gilfach Nature Reserve is within short walking distance from the property and offers moorland, woodland, rivers and waterfalls.
There is plenty to do in this area and a visit to the Elan Valley is a must, as the scenery is just simply stunning, with forested areas, waterfalls and Victorian dams, great for walkers, cyclists and bikers. The Red Kite feeding and rehabilitation centre is not far from the property, and the sheep dogs put on a great show moving the cattle and sheep from the fields before feeding starts. The market town of Rhayader has plenty of restaurants and coffee shops, local amenities and stores.
For those wanting to travel further afield, then the market town of Builth Wells is 16 miles away and home to the Royal Welsh Showground, which hosts multiple events throughout the year. The spa town of Llandrindod Wells is 14 miles from the property and hosts a great golf course and lots of open country parks. The Brecon Beacons National Park is 44 miles for those more adventurous, where a day climbing Pen Y Fan is a must with its panoramic views.

A beautiful location and very close to the Elan Valley. Shepherd's hut was very compact but yet well organised for a short break. Bed was comfortable but pillows need replacing. Would have liked a hairdryer and a mirror by the bed so the plug socket can be used to dry hair etc. One big negative for us as non-dog owners, was having to listen to other guests' poorly controlled pets. The hot tub was wonderful, but who wants to hear constant barking?

We had a great weekend, loved the peaceful setting of the hut and the views on the sheep's on the hills, quite private surrounded by fences. The Tulip hut is very well equipped, clean and cosy. We used the hot tub which was a delight after a long walk. We bought in the "honesty shop" some logs, great idea for impulse to do a fire in the outside log burner! Nearest restaurants and shops are only 15 minutes away. We will definitely recommend and visit again.
