Smithy House is a charming and spacious cottage in Betws-Y-Coed, praised for its excellent location within walking distance of the village and local amenities. Guests consistently highlight its comfort, well-equipped kitchen, and convenient parking. The property is ideal for exploring Snowdonia and offers a cosy base for families and walkers. While some minor maintenance issues and occasional mustiness are noted, the overall experience is very positive, with friendly and helpful hosts contributing to a welcoming stay.

Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with only a few mentioning a slight musty smell or dampness in certain areas, which is not uncommon in period properties.

The location is universally praised, with guests loving the proximity to the village, shops, restaurants, and walking trails, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.

Guests frequently mention the cottage's comfort, including spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and a cosy atmosphere. Occasional noise from neighbouring properties and cold stone floors are minor drawbacks.

The cottage is well equipped, especially the kitchen, and benefits from two W/Cs and off-road parking. Some minor maintenance issues, such as a leaking shower and non-stick pans, were noted but did not detract significantly from the overall experience.

Several guests appreciated the helpfulness and communication from the hosts, and some mentioned receiving lovely treats. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Overall a great experience. The cottage was very clean and well presented with clear and timely instructions on access and an update to early availability prior to arrival. A few minor niggles: The shower was in need of repair due to a leak (it happens!); the small ring on the hob did not work; the frying pan in the cupboard was no longer non stick; the shrubbery along the drive could benefit from a trim to make reversing up the steep/narrow drive to park a little easier; and we had some very noisy neighbours adjacent to our cottage for a couple of nights during our weeks stay (can’t choose your neighbours!). Apart from those small inconveniences, we had a great stay at Smithy House which is well placed for local amenities and getting out to explore the surroundings. Thanks to Sue & Phill who manage the property and made the experience welcoming.

Authentiek, maar zeer comfortabel huisje. Op wandelafstand van alle pubs en restaurants. Prima uitvalsbasis om Snowdonia te ontdekken.
