What our customers say about their holidays
Laura - Verified booking
Myself and my husband stayed with our two year old son for five nights, Monday - Friday.
The apartment is much bigger than we expected, and provided everything that we needed for our stay. It was spotlessly clean, and had a shared balcony with the apartment next door. The views were stunning, perfect for watching the sunset (see my TripAdvisor review for some pics). Oven/microwave/cutlery ect. Were provided. We always take extra bits with us, as we like to cook as well as eat out. However, there is a local Tesco and other conscience shops in Ruthin if you forget things. The apartment is perfectly located for a number of national trust walks, and is a scenic drive to Chester zoo/Cheshire Oaks. We like to get out and about now we have a son, but in all honesty if we were here 'childfree' we probably wouldn't have left often... especially when the pub below is open! Nik and Julia the owners are lovely, welcoming and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Our son was let to roam around the pub, whilst my husband enjoyed a gluten free beer. After contacting Nik about my husbands coeliac disease before our arrival, gluten free beers were waiting for him in the pub. Which was perfect! The owners were easily contactable, but let you get on with your stay. That's how we like it! We enjoyed our stay, and would return 100%. As soon as I have given birth, we are going to look at our calendar and book again! Thanks Nik & Julia. Xx

The location of the property is perfect for exploring the area, with a good choice of beaches, forest and coastal walks, castles, adventure parks and nature reserves within easy reach.
The property itself has a large garden with goats, chickens , turkeys, peacocks and geese to make friends with. Also in the garden there are loungers, a slide and swings, a football pitch and more. Ideal for kids and adults to relax. Inside the house there are light and airy spaces to spread out and relax, but there are also some dark and rather cramped areas such as the dining room. Space to walk around is also tight in the kitchen where there is an Aga that is constantly putting out heat which can be a bit overwhelming in summer. As the one who did most of the washing up during our stay (other than that which went in the dish washer), I could have done with a drainer beside the sinks in the kitchen. More shelf space would have been welcome in bathrooms, too. The owners were easy to contact and swift to respond to queries and snags. All-in-all, we found the Woodlands a charming place to stay. There was not a corner in the house that didn't have some objet d'art or interesting item of bric-a-brac to catch your eye. Much of this looks precious and fragile, so it may be vulnerable if young guests get over excited. I hope this helps to prepare potential guests for what they will find if they choose to stay at The Woodlands Lower Level. All I can say is that we liked it.

Had a fantastic stay in this huge, comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean property in a very quiet but central location; ideal to explore Anglesey.
The property is extremely spacious and very well appointed to cater for larger groups. The house had large and new televisions downstairs and TVâs upstairs, excellent Wi-Fi and streaming facilities throughout the house and kitchen equipment that was seemingly brand new. We arrived to a most generous welcome package included delicious local produce and a basket full of logs and firefighters, for the amateurs amongst us, which enabled us to have roaring fires in the evenings - although at no point was the house ever lacking in warmth, despite its size. The house is very interestingly decorated with an eclectic mix of furniture and fittings which all added to the charm of the place and practically provided more than adequate storage space for the stay. The garden is an excellent size and the summerhouse a really comfortable quiet space away from the main house. Anglesey itself was lovely with Camaes and other must see places just a short drive away. Highly recommended place to stay with owners who clearly went out of their way to make the stay as enjoyable as possible.

The apartment suited our purpose.
We were there for 2 nights and the hosts were amazing and so friendly. They go out of their way to help you and make you feel very welcome. Unfortunately we cannot comment on the food since the restaurant was closed due to staff shortages how ever I was aware of this before I booked since I had already had a telephone conversation with Nik the landlord. The landscape surrounding the public house is beautiful and it was so nice to be awoken by the sounds of birds chirping. If you wish to be in a noisy, loud music playing, pool tabled pub this is not for you. This is a lovely traditional pub where you can spend quality time. The apartment is well equipped for everything you would need. Please take enough supplies for a whole weekend since we found that the shops were shut from 12:00 noon on Saturday and that included Ruthin. You have to expect this in many areas of Wales. I will go again in the future even if just to taste the food once the restaurant is open again. Many thanks to the hosts. We wish you all the success for the future.

Llechog was an absolutely fantastic house to stay in.
Spacious, clean, bright, nicely and tastefully decorated throughout. Extras like a heated summer house and lots of dvds and games etc - all added to the experience. Lovely big double bath too, as well as a freestanding single one. Could not fault it in any way. I went with friends but would suit families well too. Nice kids room with three beds. Has all amenities like washer and dryer etc - great, well-equipped kitchen. Also met the landlord, who was extremely helpful and welcoming. Quiet hamlet location is good, especially for Cemaes bay, but the whole of Anglesey is accessible as it is fairly central. Would definitely go back again if still available! We totally loved it but forgot to sign visitors book! (The only issue was Sykes listing it as five-bedroom, which was nothing to do with quality of the house or landlords, and was entirely to do with Sykes giving the wrong info. I can see they have now changed this.)
