  We absolutely loved the school house, the location is stunning, very comfortable, well equipped, it's so peaceful and a massive plus that there is no signal or wifi, completely cut off from the world. Perfect. Our dogs were very secure in the garden and loved having so much space to run around outside and we were confident to let them knowing they couldn't escape. Glad we took insect repellent as the midges were out in full force but only at certain times of the day and repellant works just fine to keep them away. The further off the beaten track you ho the sat nav signal gets weaker then cuts out completely but the directions are excellent down to the smallest detail right to the front door. We're already looking at when we can return and have recommended to friends. 100% recommend as an retreat from the world. We can also recommend a trip to Alnwick Castle and Barter Books. The nearest supermarket is Lidl in Alnwick & the town itself is very pretty. For dog owners, nearby Happy Hounds is a very good, friendly kennel if your dog can't go on a visit with you. We can't wait to go back to The School House.

  Can't praise this little Annexe and the hosts Lucy and Chris enough.

  The supplies (food basics and extras, toiletries, cleaning products) and facilities provided were above and beyond - they thought of everything. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need, all good quality. The sofa is lovely and large. The bedding is such lovely quality and the bed very comfy. I didn't want to get up. The views are lovely, even in winter, and there is a safe route to take dogs for walks between the fields and up to the woods. Our dog loved it. We loved seeing the horses too. All made for a very enjoyable stay over New Year. One little thing to be aware of is the steps to the bedroom are quite steep and narrow, so might be difficult for someone with mobility issues. Also, the road at the front of the property does not have pavement in either direction, so its not safe to walk straight out. Car needs to be used to get to anywhere else for walks/ food/ pub/ shops especially in the evening. All in all, we would definitely recommend a stay at the Clarendon Stud!

  The cottage was amazing and very reasonable cost-wise. It was fully equipped with most kitchen equipment you would find at home and lovely clean bedding and fluffy towels. It was very warm and cosy too especially once you had the log/coal fire on. It was one of the most relaxing holidays I have been on in a long long time and my two greyhounds loved running around the secure garden. The location was fabulous and on the many rainy November days we could just sit by the fire and look at the hills while watching Netflix. Good Wifi connection which was pretty impressive for its isolated rural location too. We will be back, oh yes, we will be back! :-)

  We had a lovely stay at the Mytton.

  The house is set in beautiful countryside with great views and lots of places to walk and visit nearby. Tracey and Chris made us feel very welcome and provided some tasty homemade cakes on arrival which was a lovely touch. We were a bit unlucky with the weather this week but it meant we made good use of the log burner! We visited some lovely places including, Ludlow, Much Wenlock, Bishops Castle (and its Michaelmas Fair), and lots of scenic places to walk including Long Mynde and Stiperstones. We would love to visit again as there is so much more we would like to do in Shropshire.

  We love Nigel Cottage, this is our fourth visit. The Cottage is lovely and cosy well appointed and in an amazing location. It's very good to use as a base to explore this area of Cornwall. We love sitting outside having a bbq and a chat with all the passers-by. The Coastguard is a must for Sunday dinner and the Ship has great Cornish beer a warm welcome & good food. Also you get a very warm welcome at the Legion. Nice walks to Newlyn and Penzance and a very good bus service from the front door.
