What our customers say about their holidays

What a delightful cottage! And so easy to book online! Great aspect and we didn't mind the short walk to the church car park - we visited the church before leaving: Recommended. Had the best of both worlds as the cottage is low ceilings and timber beams, crooked walls and floors, not one stair matches another, all very quaint, whilst the kitchen is new and full of mod-cons. Plenty of lovely fluffy towels of varying sizes; lots of kitchen tea towels (and a pinny!). We all found the beds comfy, and slept really well. The little garden was perfect for our dog, contained her yet permitted a little nosy at the neighbours in the driveway behind. I was quite happy sitting there in the morning sun with my dog and a cuppa whilst the teenagers did what teenagers do: wasted the morning sleeping! We found the cottage well placed to visit the North Devon beaches and coastal towns, non of which were too far away. The narrow roads were interesting and we seemed to have no problems despite visiting during the height of the season. We love it! It took no time to feel like home. Thank you for having us. Vicky, Mum, 3 teens and a dog.

We have no hesitation in reccommending this delightful property. The owners are delightful for a start. They are very helpful & we could not have wanted more from the property itself. Everything we could possibly have needed was provided (& we are not short of things, so it was home from home). The cleanliness was pertect. The bed is comfortable; definitely not a cheap mattress. The location is ideal if you want to walk as the Tarka Trail /South west coastal path is virtually on the doorstep (well a few hundred yards away) & the path to Croyd sands is good with a good bus service to get you back. Similarly if you want to walk into Barnstable (6 miles) Access to the various towns & villages etc in the area is great. Do not overlook this property if it is available (In fact we would change our holiday date if it was already booked). This is our honest opinion & we had no incentive from the owners to give it.

Stepcott Cottage was even better than we expected. There was nothing we needed during our stay that was not provided and the quality of the furnishings and facilities were high. Lovely fresh linens and fluffy towels were provided. Gas central heating and a beautiful fire in the lounge were very welcome on wild November evenings! The cottage is very close to the town centre with pubs, restaurants and shops for provisions just a short walk away. It was our first trip away with our young labrador and it worked out really well, with rear access to the property via a utility room to clean her (and us) up after a hectic day at the breath-taking dog-friendly beaches nearby. We took a dog crate with us for her to sleep in but there was a small dog bed provided for a smaller, more sedate pooch! There is also a small grassy recreation area just at the end of the road. A really welcoming place to.stay.

The property itself was very well furnished and presented, cleanliness throughout was to a very high standard and everything you need in terms of equipment and utensils was provided. The decor was also very pleasing and everything matched, the conservatory and garden are a really nice feature and would recommend staying during the summer months to take advantage of this. The owners were extremely nice and friendly and we were impressed by a personal card, gift, chocolates and vegan wine which although was not intentional, was a nice surprise as my partner is vegan. Location is good with lots of stuff to do, shops and takeaways all close. One side note is no delivery to property apart from a select couple of places that just eat will deliver. All round a really nice accommodation, lovely owners and would definitely come again during the summer.

The property owners Martyn and Clarissa are friendly and welcoming, they have created an absolutely lovely place to spend time. The Hideaway is incredibly well presented and offers excellent accommodation for a couple. The level of decor and fitments are of a high standard and the property was exceptionally clean and tidy. Situated just a stones throw from the centre of Braunton makes it an ideal base for accessing a the local shops, pubs and restaurants either by car or on foot. Braunton is ideally situated for day trips out around North Devon especially the local beaches like Croyde and Woolacombe. We both really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommended it anyone looking to spend some time in this lovely part of the country, you will not be disappointed.
