What our customers say about their holidays
Nik - Verified booking
We were very happy with our choice of accommodation - the owner was lovely and very friendly.
As this is on her land specifically we got to chat when we arrived. The accommodation is not the "Cleanest" with some things being a bit dusty and cobwebbed - but at the end of the day its a farm cottage and was roughly in line with my expectation. Once we got settled we found most of the things that mattered in cleanliness were taken care of - the couch and carpets were all clean and so were the beds. The arrival was lovely with Jane (Owner) having made food for our arrival including baked items on the kitchen table that went above and beyond what she needed to do. As a penny pinching Scotsman i must say i felt we got our money's worth :). The parking outside could get complicated if the housing was all in use and they all had cars / multiples there were three cars at our time of staying and we all managed perfectly fine and could possibly squeeze 1 or 2 (maybe) more without having a tight parking situation! The fire was a delight i had not 100% expected as it was as Jane allowed us access to the firewood stores to collect our own fuel as and when we wished and we made good use of this on chillier nights though often these were far and few between with the cottage being quite warm (probably with the weather). One thing to bear in mind, the ceilings are very high but those doorways ain't ;) and its easy to forget that on the way to the loo at 2am. The only thing i would point out as needs improving would be the show in this cottage, i would add an anti slip mat to the bath for one, as this was noted when all 6ft 6 of me went a bit slidy, and the second thing would be a curtain, i felt terrible with the fantastic water pressure in this shower that the water just sprayed everywhere in the bathroom. That would be the only thing i think. For people looking at booking i recommend you do so its a great place lovely and out of the way, it took 10 minutes to get to walks around the cottage for hills, or to visit the towns (10 min drive to Bangor and supermarkets) and a 20-30 minute outing to Holy Island for a day. This is a perfectly placed cottage that is comfortable and friendly with excellent facilities and a fantastic link to nearby areas - it has to be the best place i have stayed in the last 10 years. Many thanks to the owners for a great stay I hope to be back :) Nik

Lovely well maintained and quiet holiday park.
Cottage was pretty basic but a good base to explore the surrounding area. Thank you for the tea, coffee and milk when we arrived, was much needed after travelling for a few hours. Nice and clean, although it would have been nice to have the use of a hoover or even a dust pan and brush as floors downstairs and up are laminate flooring so if you take your furry friend with you there will likely be dog hairs everywhere (we actually went out and bought a dust pan and brush for this reason). The two sofas are in desperate need of replacing, they've definitely seen better days, not comfortable at all, you can feel the frame of the sofas in some places. Kitchen was stocked well with pots, pans and utensils, everything needed for cooking meals, could do with a few more glasses though. Beds were fairly comfortable but mattresses are pretty thin and mattress in the room with the bunk bed you could feel the spring through. Maybe a mattress topper would help? The outside area to the front was lovely and a nice suntrap in the afternoon. It's a shame the area in the back isn't enclosed though as had two of the neighbours dogs wandering about by the back door. It would have been nice to have had some instructions left to say about what to do with bedding and towels after our stay. Overall an enjoyable holiday and lovely holiday park and would book again if the sofas were replaced.

Beudy Mawr cottage was just what we wanted.
We were greeted by Jane and a fabulous selection of cakes on arrival. The cottage was nicely equipped like a home would be. It felt homely with the decoration and the garden at the back by the main bedroom was perfect and secure for the dogs. If youâre lucky and have good weather you can sit at the garden table enjoying a gin and gazing at the Incredible views of Snowdonia. I also loved sheep, chickens and ducks as our neighbours. The location is rural but if you feel inclined, close to plenty of activities. The only slight negatives for me as someone who has back / neck issues is the angel of bed for tv and the mattress being to hard for me a side sleeper (thankfully it was super king so tossing and turning wasnât to much of an issue), I appreciate everyone has their own personal preferences so the right mattress for me would not be right for someone else. We enjoyed fresh / scented bed linen. I would absolutely recommend Beudy Mawr Cottage!

Absolutely loved our stay.
The holiday park was very clean and beautiful throughout, with great facilities for dog walkers. The accommodation was like home from home. The house reminded us of a terraced house and it was perfect for our family of 4, plus the dog. Our stay was during the heatwave, so by the Wednesday it was too hot to take the dog out, so we took advantage of the sites woodlands, which was perfectly shaded and cool for the dog, so we took the dog into the woodlands and along the river, during the day and went out in the car after 8pm. Loads of lovely local places to visit. My husband and son climbed Snowdon twice and we visited a variety of nearby attractions, with the furthest being 45 minutes drive. There was a tesco, morrisons, asda, home bargains and McDonald's only 4 minutes drive away, which was convenient. My only suggestion would be to tidy up the back garden, but that's all. The site was stunning, very big, attractive and spotless. We would definitely go again.

This is a lovely little cottage with lots of character and charm.
This was my second stay at Pen Y Graig and it was perfect for my needs. I was here on my own, but it would be perfect for a couple with one child. The main bedroom is open plan which makes it light and spacious. The small second bedroom is accessed through the main bedroom, as too is the small bathroom with shower. So it is more of an en-suite room with access to another small room that I used as my dressing room. There are stunning views out the front windows across the valley toward the Pwllheli Mountains. You can see for miles and watch the sun setting. Talysarn is also a wonderful location often overlooked. It is steeped in history from the local slate mines with some wonderful walks straight from the doorstep. It is also perfectly located for exploring the North Wales coast, Anglesey, the Lynn Peninsular and Snowdon. All are just a short drive away. I can't wait to come back for a real hoiliday here one day instead of only visiting for work.
