  Fantastic cottage, lovely hosts, beautiful location, close to everything we wanted to do in Northumberland. We would definitely go again. The property was stylish, high quality, had extra touches, both inside and out. The care and attention to every detail was obvious, both when I booked, and exceeded expectations on arrival. Even if we hadn’t stocked up on provisions on the way, we would have had everything we needed for the first evening and the next morning, if we had turned up empty handed. We loved that the provisions were substantially locally sourced. It was clean and neutral so that we didn’t feel that we were staying in someone else’s house – but at the time there was warmth and personality. There was extra touches in the supply of games (we played scrabble),local maps and guides. The kitchen equipment was very good – we didn’t use it much, but it seemed that had we chosen to cook from scratch, we would have had everything we needed. Christine and Alan, the owners, were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Coquet Cottages is without doubt the best holiday cottage specialist I’ve used.

  Our third visit to this wonderful cottage! Christine and Alan continue to be fabulous hosts and we thank them for continuing to share this peaceful part of the world with us. Bamburgh remains stunning. If you like great food then try the Milan in Wooler – the seafood pasta & risotto dishes were yummy with friendly staff.The voucher kindly provided by Christine and Alan for Lowick village store was easily spent and we purchased other goodies there too.We visited Barter Books in Alnwick, along with a great festive light display at the Alnwick Gardens. Nice walks around Wooler and Warkworth were enjoyed.If you like a good pub meal then try the excellent Tankerville Arms at Ellingham. Chatton village store is also worth calling into for knitted items which support an autism charity.

  A wonderful week in a fantastic cottage. So peaceful – just the sound of the birds and the stream. Took time to slow down & refresh ourselves – so easy to do in this gem of a place. The weather was kind, no coats all week. We thought we knew Northumberland but still managed to discover new places. We loved the beaches and were delighted to find a new one that was almost deserted! Had a great meal at Milan in Wooler – a vibrant little place & the staff so polite & helpful. Thank you for the hamper – so kind. We won’t hesitate to recommend you.

  Horseshoe Cottage is a beautiful cottage in a gorgeous location. The property had everything you would want and more. It was bliss coming back to such a gorgeous cosy cottage after being out all day. We cant wait to try other properties! The location was perfect, we had a lovely refreshing break which included lots of cycling. All the amenities were of the highest quality and could not be improved upon. I loved the bathroom and the décor. The bed was so comfy. The property had such a nice feel about it and everything was well thought out.

  Thank you so much Christine and Alan for a lovely week. All home comforts including a remarkably comfortable bed and a fantastic welcome pack. We enjoyed our Northumberland trip exploring a lot of new places inland mostly as there is such a lot of Northumberland aside from the fantastic coastline. We ate good meals in the two local pubs – the Black Bull and the White Swan at Lowick. The coffee shop in the nearby whisky distillery is also worth a mention. Another good visit to Lindisfarne before we left. Northumberland, we will be back!
