What our customers say about their holidays
Mrs Grant - Verified booking
We were very impressed with Swallow Cottage in terms of facilities, cleanliness and comfort. Warm, welcoming and we were never without. It was perfect to come back to at the end of a long, tiring wet day! The host welcomed us with a generous hospitality tray with snacks as well as drinks. Hand soap, washing liquid and laundry liquid are all provided. The tumble dryer is communal and there's a little extra charge when used, but the communal washing line can be used on dry days. The carpark is along the drive as you come in, so it's a short walk to get to the cottages but a pull-alone wagon is available for you to pile your luggage into. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots/pans and knives that are actually sharp! There were even plastic bowls etc for the kids. The photos of the children's play area on this website don't do it justice - there's a wendy house, pirate ship, a selection of ride-on cars/tractors - all in an area safely gated away from the carpark. Probably suited up to age 5 or 6, but there's a larger climbing frame in the back garden for older ones. There's literally a shed full of toys/games for visitors to borrow, including beach toys and windbreakers. The owner lives onsite and was friendly and quickly available to help when we had questions. The location was ideal as it was only about 30mins drive to beaches and attractions either north or south Pembs, with a Tesco Extra only 5 mins drive away. We liked Tenby (larger choice of ice cream and fish/chip vendors!) And Heatherton world of activities was an excellent alternative to all the beaches. Haverfordwest itself has a castle and museum but currently closed.

Rose Cottage is one of 6 rental properties on the site. It’s in a quiet, rural area overlooking a field of goats! There are no shops at all in the area, the nearest supermarket is 5 miles away. The village pub has signs up advertising food but there was none to be had. The cottage is small but well laid out & very comfortable. However, equipment was minimal. There were no Pyrex type bowls or vegetable steamer to use in the microwave; oven gloves weren’t provided; there was a vacuum cleaner but no dustpan & brush. In the bedroom there was a 13.5 tog duvet on the bed with no other choice provided. It was a fairly cold week when we were there last week but if it had been the usual temperature for July we would’ve needed much lighter bedding. We took 2 dogs & there was a nice, enclosed field for them to run in with a mowed path all the way round. It was difficult drying them off in the cottage as you step straight into the lounge from outside so need to have plenty of towels for them to stand on. The friendly hosts live on site & were available to answer queries. We stayed at a cottage in North Wales in May which was considerably larger, had a large garden front & rear, lots of equipment, books, board games, didn’t charge extra for dogs & was cheaper than Rose Cottage.

What a wonderful find Y Stabl was.
It was exactly as described in the details and the photos did it justice. Steve met us when we arrived, showed us around and explained a few things. He is very friendly, helpful and would have been approachable had we have needed any further assistance. But, then he left us to enjoy our holiday. The cottage is very interesting, homely and had lots of tourist information to help you decide where to visit. There are also DVDs, books and games. The bed was so incredibly comfortable. The cottage is set in a peaceful location with only the occasional (once a day) passing car. The hot tub was a daily delight especially after a day of walking. Robes and extra towels are provided for the hot tub. It was very clean and hygienic. There is a fish pond and water feature in the garden and even when the jets were off, it was so relaxing to sit in the hot tub listening to the trickling sounds and the birdsong. We feel like we've been on a spa retreat. It's an ideal location for reaching both coasts. So many beautiful walks to do. But, also plenty of lovely towns to explore when the weather isn't favourable. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

Just returned from a fabulous week at Y Stabl and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Great base for exploring South Wales. Cottage is lovely and has everything you need. We cooked 5 nights out of 7 and had no problems. Steve greeted us on arrival and gave us the tour and some tips on where to walk, which is what we intended doing. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the area and rightly so! Lower Town Fishguard is gorgeous and Iâm a little in love with the place. The weather was so hot we actually found using the jacuzzi at the end of a long day to be too warm! We went in later and later to try and enjoy it for longer. It was lovely though! Goodwick is a lovely little town and we found the people to be so friendly it was like home from home. That was the case everywhere we went! Our only negative was the cottage felt a little damp, but to be fair the constant rain but warm weather up to our week would have contributed. We were lucky so just opened the windows and it made a difference. Nothing worth complaining about though and certainly didnât spoil our brilliantl week, and I would recommend this to family and friends as a cracking place to stay and Steve and his wife are the best hosts! Thank you.

We had a lovely long Bank Holiday break at Y Stabl.
We walked in and immediately felt at home, Steve was so kind and showed us everything we needed as well as pinging us during the long journey there. We settled straight way and got the wine and food on. The equipment was adequate for what we needed, and we managed spaghetti bolognaise, a stew and a pork Sunday lunch (we cook a lot as part of our diet needs)! The welcome basket was lovely, and I donât think there was anything left by the time we did! The walks were also lovely, and we found plenty of places to sit and have lunch along the way. The weather was kind, and we thoroughly enjoyed the jacuzzi to get back to, nice and simple to use, and the privacy was also fine as you are quite out in the countryside. It was also lovely to read how many people have been coming there for many many years â when the swimming pool was there! Again, thank you we needed to rest our heads and hearts and we able too
