  My wife and I have just spent a thoroughly enjoyable fortnight's stay at the cottage.

  On arrival we found the property extremely well prepared with welcoming gifts of bottles of Cornish cider, chocolates and cream teas. On the second day, Steve the owner, came to check that we were settled in okay and that everything was to our satisfaction. I am 81 years old and use crutches and I mentioned that I had difficulty with the one step leading to the front door. On returning from our day out I found that he had installed a small ramp to make it easier for me. I was amazed at such a level of consideration. It made all the difference to our holiday and showed a level of service far beyond what I would normally expect. The Hot Tub was discreetly enclosed for privacy and my wife enjoyed a relaxing soak each morning. At the end of the first week Steve asked if we would like the cleaner to come in and change the bedlinen and towels. I thought that this was a very nice touch as at other places we have spent a fortnight in we have had to make do with the original towels and bedlinen for the entire stay. The location of the cottage makes access to both the North and South coasts easy. If you fancy dining out the local pub/restaurant Lanivet Inn is one and a half miles away and serves excellent food at reasonable prices. We dined there four times during our stay. In summary I would highly recommend Rosewarrick Cottage as the perfect hideaway for a relaxing holiday.

  My husband and I went here for 5 nights for our honeymoon, it was absolutely spotless, the bed was really big and comfy.

  The hot tub was just enough for 2 people, near to Minehead Beach and a couple of local pubs. Washer/dryer provided, although the dryer is a little temperamental haha. Very low ceilings, my husband did have to crouch to use the toilet and shower. There is some oaf noise but not bad at all, however I don't think we quite understood how close the other cottages were to us, we heard noise from other residents and sharee the car park with them. The maintenance people walked into the hot tub area unannounced a couple of times to test the hot tub, my partner was lounging around half dressed and had to run upstairs the first time, and the second time I was alone in the house with the door open, and a man came in to the garden area, I would like to suggest for future reference that you announce yourselves, knock or inform the Residents before your arrival. Other feedback I would recommend that hooks are put somewhere for you to hang your towels up after shower or hot tub use. The WiFi is a little slow and the smart TV doesn't connect to it, so you are limited to the standard channels, but we used our laptop instead so it's OK. All in all it was a beautiful cottage, well presented, very clean, and just enough for 2 people for a few days.

  What a fabulous place to stay.

  The property has everything we needed and was in such a peaceful location. The hot tub was the cherry on the cake. The owners were lovely and made us feel so welcome. All the little items provided at the start of our holiday were a lovely touch. There is nothing to fault and I really hope we will be back next year. You get used to the narrow roads and they are worth it for the beautiful location of the property. It was a real wrench to leave and we had such a relaxing time. There are a couple of lovely pubs a few minutes drive away situated on Bow Creek another lovely setting. I recommend The Maltsters Arms for great food and service (Keith Floyd’s old pub). The hosts were so helpful with where to go and what to do and we made the most of the advice. Most places less than 20 miles away and little more than 30 minutes drive. We visited Dartmouth, Totnes, Salcombe, Bantham, East Prawlthorpe, Gara Rock and Hope Cove to name a few. Great coastal walks with stunning views. The Round Robin trip was also a great day out with open top bus from Totnes, Steam Train, Ferry, a stop in Dartmouth and a Dart river cruise back to Totnes. Highly recommended it.   Excellent stay at The Retreat, lovely big comfy bed, very clean, hot tub was fab (someone else commented on hooks for dressing gowns, they are in place now).

  Milk, apple juice and delicious lemon drizzle cake was a nice touch. We had everything we needed. Communication with owner was fab. We did have a problem with the heating, but the fire in the lounge warms the place very quickly, and there is a heater in the bedroom as well, which again, warms the place quickly. Apart from the towel rail in the bathroom the radiators are not really needed anyway. Yes, there is noise from the main road, but it didn't really bother us (& we've in a cul-de-sac at home). I would not advise walking to the pub, too dangerous. And yes, the TV is too high on the wall, but again, didn't spoil our stay. Would recommend based on cleanliness, comfort, hot tub and location (plenty of places to visit within 1 hours drive).

  This was our second stay here as we love this part of the country.

  Lovely welcome pack especially the fresh milk. The cottage is great value for money. The hot tub was great but it was still in need of hooks nearer to it for our robes for when you get out on a chilly night. The cottage needs a bit of a spruce up especially the bathroom, there is no shelf to put a toothbrush etc. But the bed is amazing and really comfortable but limited space to store our clothes. The traffic noise is drowned out by the noise of the tub, so didn't bother us. Unfortunately, the road is too busy to walk on so no way you can go to the pub or restaurant in the village on foot. Lots of places to visit near by especially the castle at Dunster. Would recommend as a base to stay and for the hot tub!
