  A fabulous place to stay.

  Homely and bright, extremely clean and comfortable, plenty of room. Spacious bedrooms. The wet room with walk-in shower was ideal for my Grandad who stayed with us. There was a vase of fresh flowers in the hallway when we arrived; a lovely touch. We were very impressed with the equipment provided, everything you could need for an excellent stay. Our kids enjoyed the large garden and it’s so peaceful and quiet with beautiful countryside views. In the evening we saw deer in the field by the garden. We had a couple of BBQ’s with absolutely delicious meat from the butchers Paul Bray & Son which is just a 5 minute drive. Trerulefoot is a great base for exploring the area, Looe is a short drive away. We visited beautiful beaches in Looe, Talland Bay (amazing rock pools) and Polkerris. The best family day out we had was at Pennywell Farm. It was so much fun, not to be missed! Make sure you get there for opening as the activities start at 9:30am. We enjoyed our holiday so much, we couldn't have wished for anything better! I would definitely recommend The Old Forge to anyone and we hope to come back! Thank you.

  Hi there, Your property was so beautiful, the stunning views were most tranquil.

  The beautiful decor and home comforts were very thoughtful and your kind gestures provided us with a warm and comfortable stay. Your property was so nice we looked forward to coming back after a long walk exploring the area. The stunning views were addictive and so relaxing, we felt like we were floating in a beautiful cloud. The only little issue we experienced was in the last couple of days of our stay we experienced lots of little flies in the balcony and entering the property through the open windows, kitchen & living room. We closed the windows immediately, so they couldn’t enter, and we managed to remove most of the flies which had entered the property. But this meant that we couldn’t use the balcony on these couple of evenings. Other than this little issue, the stay was absolutely amazing and we enjoyed every second here.   Fantastic, beautifully decorated, spacious apartment with amazing views.

  Very well equipped kitchen with excellent range of cookware for dinner preparation, baking and even a blender for soup, had we wished to make. Very rare in holiday accommodation to be so well covered in this area and we appreciated the quality of items offered. Parking space at front of property easy to get in and out of. One flight of stairs up to the apartment or a lift. We arranged for Tesco’s to deliver our shopping shortly after we arrived and they wheeled the order from the van, up in the lift and into the apartment! Steep walk down to the beach. Restaurants at the local hotel and beach front. The costal path to St Ives is a substantial paved path and an easy walk, plenty to see and do there with lots of interesting shops and cafes. We visited all our favourite locations nearby and have booked our return visit. Wonderful holiday!

  We stayed at Poppy Cottage over Christmas.

  It was cosy enough to stay in and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Suffolk countryside, punctuated only by the ducks on the pond and the faint noise of a train in the distance, while also being close enough to so many wonderful locations when we felt like venturing out. Poppy Cottage is probably the best situated of the cottages in the complex for huddling down in bad weather; it looks out onto the sheltered courtyard, so we never felt battered by the occasional squalls of heavy wind and rain. When the weather permitted, we took trips to Aldeburgh, Sutton Hoo, and Framlingham, all of which were short pleasant drives; the location really couldn't be better. Lyndsey was friendly and helpful, and dropped by with mince pies to make us feel welcome. I can highly recommend a stay at Poppy Cottage.

  The cottage was absolutely delightful and the courtyard and surroundings were very well planted out and looked after.

  Very tranquil and most pleasant to sit outside at any time during the day. Very good location to tour the area. Essentially everything in general was great but there are a couple of small points we would like to mention. There was no booklet giving details of refuse collections, doctors, places to eat and procedures when leaving; usually found at all previous cottages. Not a real problem as we just carried out what we thought were adequate procedures and left the cottage in sound frame of mind. Also the shower was quite basic off the taps and not adjustable; also no grab rails. May seem rather nit-picking but everything else was really fine and these points just put the icing on the cake.
