  Owners very welcoming, nice welcoming pack.

  Cottage large did have facilities although some minor adjustments could make all the difference. TV has continuous red line on left of screen. Cushion on sofa needs cleaning after each stay, also smelt of personal sweat. Rug corner turned up on corner, hazard. Cutlery very old and not user friendly with round handles,tray marked and needs replacing. Toaster far to small. There was plenty of utensils. Downstairs bedroom very handy. Bed needs better pillows and could of been accessorised better. Shower unit broken in places and needs attention very tired looking. Would not of hesitated to give a 4star had the the attention for detail been upgraded. Very clean and relaxed environment would not be put off visiting again.

  A lovely little cottage equipped with everything you need.

  The cottage sits in the owners grounds. I can honestly say she is one of the nicest people I have ever met and her local knowledge helped make the holiday as enjoyable as it was, We also saw her for a daily chat and they were as much a part of the holiday as our daily trips out. Bakewell market on a Monday is definitely worth a visit. Also whilst you are in the potteries you have to visit one of the pottery museums. We went to Gladstone pottery and it was a day to remember. My husband is partially sighted and the staff were magnificent .The cafe is also worth a visit, be warned though the tea cakes are bigger than a small plate. Thinking of booking the cottage again next year.

  A lovely holiday accommodation with top quality fittings.

  Comfortable, clean and quiet. Great views to the west. In fact we visited Jodrell Bank on our visit and then realised it’s visible on a clear day. Recommend Jodrell Bank for all ages.The Potteries Museum in Stoke was interesting and has a real Spitfire. If you are into aviation the visitor centre next to Manchester Airports runway is a must. Obviously loads of walks and other things to do. Make sure your car is in good condition lots of long climbs. Also beware of all the cameras and pot holes. All the people of Staffordshire from visitor locations to supermarkets we found were very friendly and helpful. My brother and I both said we’d had a good break.

  Fern Cottage offers an exceptional holiday getaway.

  It is decorated to a very high standard affording a very stylish and comfortable place to stay. The internal images really don’t do the cottage justice. The cottage itself is a true tranquil and stunning retreat, with probably one of the best vistas of the cheshire plains and Staffordshire moorlands you can get, and you can take it all in from ur very own private patio - the sunsets seen from the patio are absolutely stunning. The only drawback was that there was no outdoor furniture on the patio, I’m sure the owner who was also a great host will remedy that in the near future. Thanks for a wonderful stay

  We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Fern Cottage.

  It is a beautiful property with amazing views across the Cheshire Plain. The property itself is decorated to a high standard, with a lovely contemporary style. It is perfect for 2 - 4 guests and is very dog friendly. The spacious lounge/dining and kitchen area is well designed, comfortable and very well equipped. The owner lives nearby and was very welcoming and attentive and responded extremely promptly to any issues. Great location, handy for the Potteries, Biddulph, Congleton and the North West. Would highly recommend and we hope to return soon.
