What our customers say about their holidays
Mrs Curran - Verified booking
A big cottage in a great location close to the Quay and local pub. The cottage is roomy and bedrooms are large, however, there is only one shower, which is not enough for eight people. The second bathroom is no more than another toilet, unless you have children to bathe. The bathrooms are also in need of an update showing lots of signs of wear and tear. In the instructions to gain access to the property, you are told to contact the housekeeper We tried to phone her at least 10 times, and in the end, we contacted Suffolk Secrets, who emailed her to ask her to contact us - nothing. We were going to a wedding so wanted to ask if we could park our cars at the property. - We did NOT want to enter the property before 4pm the allocated arrival time When we did drive down there at 1:30pm the house keeper was livid that we wanted to come in early, we explained we didn't want to go into the house but just leave the cars (which didn't seem to be a problem) But she was furious that we wanted to enter the property - which we kept saying we didn't. She was then angry that we hadn't contacted her before to ask about the cars, and we explained that we had tried on numerous occasions. This woman was extremely rude, to the point where she made my adult daughter cry. We did leave the cars but did not go to the house until after 4pm. There was supposed to be a welcome pack which we never got presumably out of spite as she could have easily popped it over to us. (they live in the house next door.) One last note: we did meet the owner, who was very nice and kind, unlike his housekeeper

We had an excellent stay at Gleve House as a group of 6 adults, a baby and a toddler. The house is comfortable and spacious and had all the facilities we needed for sleeping, cooking (there is even an air fryer), eating and socialising. We had fun trying the games too. All the bathrooms are spacious and function well. The office was very useful for one of our party who needed to work whilst we were there. The baby equipment provided was very useful and it was great to have both a garden and a playground next door to keep the toddler entertained. The property is well located for all the places we wanted to visit (Southwold, Sutton Hoo, Framlingham, Aldeburgh, etc) and has plenty of parking - more than adequate for our 2 cars. We recommend for families the owl sanctuary, the nearby Easton Farm and the beach at Southwold. For takeaways, we recommend the fish and chip shop in Framlingham and the Indian restaurant (leaflet in local information folder).

We had a very comfortable stay at The Old Brewery House, using the house as a base to do some cycle rides around the coast and rambles across Orford Ness. The house is in a great location, near the quay and Jolly Sailor pub and just a pleasant short walk to the bakery and Deli. The owner who stays near by was friendly and helpful. Crisp clean sheets, good wifi signal for a rural location, and a comfortable lounge and dining area with access to iplayer and Netflix. Easy to use central heating if it gets chilly, as well as a log fire with kindling and wood provided. We had shared use of a pleasant and well kept garden, with views over the surrounding Suffolk countryside. Very relaxing.

Gleve House is a spacious, comfortable and well equipped holiday home. The visitors' every need has been catered for including a gaming console in the conservatory and the most comprehensive range of kitchen & dining equipment I've ever seen. We were a group of 4 related middle-aged/elderly ladies who appreciated being able to have a bedroom each and the use of 3 bathrooms. There is a pleasant rear garden with plenty of patio furniture and a large gravel front providing parking for 2-3 cars. The house is well placed to explore the local area, particularly the castle and village at Framlingham and is only about 12 miles from the coast.

Gleve House is a beautifully well maintained property with excellent facilities for a family or group of people. Three of the bedrooms are very spacious double bedrooms (2 with en-suite) with the fourth, being a good sized single bedroom. The property is in a very good location for visiting lovely places like Framlingham, Southwold and Aldeburgh. There is no pub in Hacheston or within straightforward walking distance but Framlingham is only a short drive or taxi ride away. There was a lovely welcome pack of useful locally sourced items on arrival, which was a nice touch. Overall, we had a great family short break at Gleve House.
