  As a retired couple ~ within touching distance of being 80 years old ~ this was our consecutive stay at "Millers Cottage". For us the cottage was so ideal, and upon opening the stable style front door and stepping inside, it was like feeling "back home". The cottage has so much character and history and being all on one level was important for us. Since our stay in 2024, the owners have replaced the gravel drive with an attractive resin bound drive, which is certainly much more "user friendly" especially for anyone with a physical disability and in need of using a wheelchair. The location is so ideal, being so close to Snape Maltings with its various outlets and its concert hall. Without needing to even travel around too far, there is much to visit and explore. Without wanting to embarrass them, the owners are a delightful couple indeed. Needless to say that we so enjoyed our stay.

  This is a unique property not just because it has been a windmill but it's also where Bejamin Britten lived and composed some of his best known works. The location is a very good base for visiting most of Suffolk and a short walk to a good Pub/Restaurant (The Golden Key). Snape Maltings are just a short walk away (less than a mile), there are more places to eat there including the Plough and Sail which is owned by the same people as the Golden Key. If you don't feel like going out, the property has a nice kitchen and a comfortable Lounge. The owners are on site and are very nice, they also make delicious marmalade and a jar was already in the kitchen when we arrived along with some washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and hand sanitiser. We both loved our stay here and would like to return.

  A cosy , comfortable cottage which was also ‘homely’ because of the addition of pictures and ceramics. A well equipped kitchen, with all the necessary utensils for self catering ; although you are also spoilt for places to eat nearby, we had a lovely Sunday roast at the ‘Plough & Sail’ at the Maltings. The cottage has a beautiful garden with a picnic bench which in the warmer weather would be a good place to unwind. For walkers, you just cross the road to the footpaths to Aldeburgh; Snape Maltings; and Iken Church.For fans of Benjamin Britten & Peter Pears ,the Cottage and Mill have historical significance and it is well placed for visiting the ‘Red House’ in Aldeburgh, allow half a day as there is a lot to see.

  We had a wonderful and very happy stay at the picturesque cottages. We enjoyed walking in the pretty garden that has a river at the bottom and is opposite beautiful farmland. The kind owners had taken care to provide all useful equipment, and more and thoughtfully included very detailed information concerning local places of interest, restaurants etc, which was a great help. The cottages are conveniently located near some pretty villages, with weekly markets, and are within easy access to some quaint and pretty coastal villages. Apart from being well equipped, the cottages are comfortable and nicely decorated. They have great outdoor spaces that can be enjoyed in the warmer UK weather.

  The location of Lime Quay Cottage is a delight. It has pretty bedrooms - a very comfortable double bed and plenty of hanging and drawer space - a lovely powerful shower and good quality china. The surrounding trees guarantee a variety of birdsong & how nice to find a pint of milk and a cream cake in the fridge and a jug of flowers on the windowsill Unfortunately the sitting room was not furnished as shown on the website when booked and now appears bland and uninviting and proved uncomfortable. A few changes there would be a great improvement in this otherwise lovely little cottage.
