What our customers say about their holidays

We chose Amal Anpras because its listing came closest to our requirements.
Close proximity to the town centre with level access and walking. A secure garden for our son's Cocker Spaniel. Off road parking for two cars. Sufficient spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Our experience was that our expectations were met! The level of comfort in the settees and beds was excellent. Levels of quality in the furnishings, bathrooms, kitchen, equipment, etc, also excellent. Our preference would have been for all chair seating at the dining table but we knew in advance that it included two bench seats. (Our party was an 80 year old, celebrating her birthday and researching where she was born and baptised, having left Cornwall when she was 2! Her 76 year old husband, their daughter and son and his dog. So, all adults.) The level of equipment was excellent, although we would have welcomed a more detailed inventory, before we visited. We unnecessarily lugged a slow-cooker and iron with us, only to find that such items were already provided! Amal Anpras proved to be a really good base to stay and to tour the area from. Our daughter has expressed interest in returning and bringing her husband and children, two sons, 12 and 9 and her 6 year old daughter, realising how well the accommodation and location would work for them.

The cottage was clean and comfortable.
Very convenient for the coastal path, visiting Tintagel and Boscastle all very beautiful. We had some issues with the allocated parking space as it was very tight against a stone wall, where the passenger had to get out before the vehicle could get close enough in for the traffic to get past on the dusty farm track! We also had an issue with a neighbour who covered our car in hedge trimmings and small stones as he believed we shouldnât be parking there and didnât bother to ask us to move it before he strimmed the hedge! This was discussed with the owner at the time as it was upsetting and disrupted our holiday. The owner said she would contact the neighbour to resolve the issues. The bed was comfortable however too low for us and the frame was a hazard especially at night. We like a window open at night this was difficult having balcony doors, however we left the bathroom window open for some air. The clothes aider was broken, owner is aware and was going to replace.

To make future guests stay more enjoyable, it would be nice to have local information on businesses, places to visit and walking routes.
Locked heating was more than adequate but it would have been nice to be able to turn it down. For rainy days and bad weather, board games or a pack of cards would be a nice addition too. Apart from a couple of tea bags and sachets of coffee provided on the first day, there was nothing else provided except for the empty containers. When weâve stayed in other cottages, these have usually been filled. Milk and mince pies provided on arrival were welcomed after a long drive, as were the festive decorations and crackers. We both had electric toothbrushes and found the charging point in the bathroom would only work when the light was on. This was a bit of a niggle. Access road was poor but we accept that this is probably outside of the owners control.

Amal Anpras is the perfect holiday home for a family and dogs.
Ideally situated in Tintagel close to amenities but overlooking farmland. I particularly loved watching the rabbits in the field behind the property. It is within close walking distance to the South West Coastal Path and we enjoyed some amazing walks with breath taking scenery. Amal Anpras has an open plan ground floor which initially concerned me as we have two dogs. However, the owners had thought of everything and provided two very well designed dog gates so that are two boys could be contained safely at night and stopped from going upstairs. This is a property where the owners have obviously lived the experience and understand what people need. So many properties we have stayed in this has not been the case. We would definitely recommend this property.

The house was suitable for all our needs from a baby to a dog.
Its situated behind the high street but you dont feel like it as its hidden but loved that the shops were right there. Our baby and dog loved watching the sheep in the fields right behind the house. The owner was amazing and kept in contact before and during with us. The house had everything you could think of. The village and locals made you feel very welcomed. There are plenty of pubs which served great food and even had breakfast with the locals who owned one of the shops in the village and gave us recommendations of what to do around Cornwall. If you do the walk down to the castle, be prepared its a very steep hill going down but you can pay for a car to bring you back up
