What our customers say about their holidays

I am 29 female with several disabilities.
Negatives- Upon entrance beautiful well kept property, at first glance. Tv in the main bedroom and lounge need updating, cooker is very temperamental and takes a long time to heat up and cook the food. There isnt 1 frying pan and stove took a very long time to heat up. The stairs upto the hot tub are not very well lit at all and there is no handrail for reassurance, there is also a large bush growing onto the steps down. The games room does leak from the roof where it joins so can be a pain but didnât change the fun we had playing darts. The listing states that there are games but alls I found was jigsaws (pieces missing) and one board game. I did find use of the playing cards and had lots of fun around the table. The WiFi did go off and on quite a bit whilst I was there which could be a problem to some but I was happy to be away from technology and enjoy the beautiful scenery and watching the sheep from the seating area. Positives- The first one was of course the jacuzzi. Wow fastest pain reliever Iâve ever had! With my disabilities Iâm often in pain and the hot tub definitely made up for this. The view out the main bedroom is so beautiful honestly to wake up and see that really did add the wow factor to my break. The property itself is very well maintained whilst having a lot of its original structure and having that modern look to it at the same time. We ended up doing karaoke in the kitchen on YouTube which was really fun and like I said earlier the card games was such a good laugh. We went out a few days to neighbouring towns and had some good hikes along the roads leading up to the property. It is very uphill when walking up towards Denbigh mountain and downhill majority of the way back. The property itself is secluded enough that you have your privacy but will often see tractors or neighbours walking the dog (Tommy). This property is no doubt a perfect place to get away but not too far away (1 hour 12 mins for me). Itâs would easily cater for a family or friends or a couple. The oven and hob does need updating and the tvs but again this is my personal opinion. Property was overall clean (except the oven and washing machine) slept like a baby in the main bedroom and thoroughly enjoyed the waterfall shower. All other guests said beds where comfortable but they do squeak very loud at 1 tiny movement. The doors upstairs are extremely loud to open and close but didnât really bother me. Can see a lot of things have been updated such as painted, new lights going up the stairs inside the property, the smart tv in the kitchen, would be nice to have extra pillows as I had to sleep with 3 just to be comfortable. Towels for inside the house are very small so I would recommend taking your own. Under floor heating in kitchen was amazing kept downstairs warm and was a nice touch. Would be a nice option to be able to check out late as we had to be out by 10am. Would definitely recommend this property overall and with a few upgrades it would be perfect. Thankyou again for making my time away so enjoyable will definitely book again.

Lovely house in a beautiful setting within easy reach of the coast and with the local town of Denigh a short drive away.
The house was warm and spacious, a little too warm at times, as we were lucky enough to have good weather, not that we minded. The kitchen is large and well equipped but we felt that the house might benefit from a tumble dryer especially since there was a limited supply of towels. There were only three of us and if the house was at full occupancy I think we would have struggled for fresh towels even though we took our own towels for use with the hot tub. There are a few small things that need attention around the place such as a constantly running toilet in the bathroom and a blind that doesn't have a working mechanism just odd things that would not necessitate contacting the owners during your holiday but that could perhaps do with attention between guests. We feel that the house is in need of a little TLC and would benefit from a good spring clean & freshen up, it's just looking a little tired and would benefit from a fresh coat of paint especially as there is a large stain on the ceiling in the lounge.Overall we have enjoyed our holiday, the hot tub was great and the views were fantastic but we just feel that, at this moment in time, the house does not warrant a 5* rating. Hopefully our feedback will help to improve the experience for future guests.

Nowhere near a 4.
9 star holiday the place was absolutely filthy when we arrived had to scrub the place!!! Dirty cooker, fridge and towels had dirty marks and makeup stains on them the fridge had spilt food inside it and dirty finger marks on the handle!! Dusty everywhere and cobwebs!!! Bedding also didn't smell fresh!!! OK property literally in the middle of nowhere closet shop is a 20 minute drive ur literally up a mountain view is gorgeous and hot tub was lovely!! Bbq needs binning it's in no fit state for any type of use!! Will upload pics to show!! We also had no Internet for the first 4 days on arrival and wasted most of our type on phone to owners trying to resolve this matter than had a engineer there alday on our 4th day not good wen ur on holiday!! Would never ever stay here agen and would definitely not recommend it!! We've stayed in much nicer places with better facilities for a lot cheaper!! Kids playground needs replacing it's got things missing and is dangerous and all the kids toys are broken!!! Sykes cottages are just as bad they should not be letting out this property it needs a lot of tlc!!! There just after ur money!! Strongly advice you to look elsewhere or be extremely Disappointed!!

We booked this cottage over Christmas to celebrate a special birthday with the family. Our group consisted of 7 adults and 5 children. The cottage was lovely and spacious with 2 large reception rooms and open plan kitchen/ dining room. It was warm and comfortable with gorgeous views and countryside walks locally. The kitchen was well equipped, just lacking a few basics such as covered dishes suitable for the oven. Also there were not enough chairs for us all to sit round the table. The utility room was large and ideal for muddy boots and coats. The bedrooms were comfortable although the master bedroom had no shaver point or mirror to use when drying your hair. One of the blinds in the main lounge was faulty and could not be let down. In several of the bedrooms and the bathroom on the ground floor there were loads of dead ladybirds and flies in the folds of the roller blinds.Having said all that we had a lovely stay at Foxhole Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our time away and would recommend this property.Suffolk Hideaway were good at answering any questions and were very helpful in allowing us into the cottage early.

The N Family - Verified booking
Lovely, spacious house with good sized bedrooms & bathrooms split across the two floors and a large parking area. The kitchen is very modern and well equipped, with plenty of dining space and with an additional outdoor dining area with lovely country scenery. Sunset views in particular can be spectacular! Fantastic location a few minutes from beautiful Port Isaac, which has a Co-op supermarket, a great pub and various dining options. Perfect location for long coastal walks (or short drives) to Tintagel, Polzeath, or many other stunning spots. Some great farmshops nearby, such as Trevathan, with a lovely cafe & shop, as well as offering excellent activities for the kids. The host, is very responsive and helpful, as well as knowledgeable about the area. Hope to return here again in the future.
